What to do with this monstrosity?

I built this monstrosity of a V-tail back in 2015 (hence my jazzy single-bloke bedding) and it never flew quite right. It had a KK2.5 board with Hobbyking ESCs, motors and 4S lipo. I sold the FlySky RF gear from it a long time ago now, but the rest of the frame and parts are still hung up in the garage of my new gaff.

Is it worth keeping any of the parts for use on a small 5" quad, or is it all too old and outdated?

I’m quite partial to the KK2 board which unfortunately I believe is no longer produced. About a year ago I was hoping to purchase a couple off the Bay, but they were asking silly money, for a Tri-Copter project. I eventually found a couple in my bits-box.

The V-Tail does look quite intriguing and it might be worth your while replacing the KK2 and the ESC’s for something more up to date. Possibly an all in one module.

It was a 3D design I found on Thingyverse, back in the day. It originally started off as a tricopter (below), using a servo to tilt the rear prop for yaw.

The main issue I had with this quad, is its size! It has to be 40-50cm long.

If I don’t end up using the KK2, I’ll certainly consider gifting it.

I believe the Ukranian Army will welcome anything that is controllable, fast and can carry a small payload.
