Where/How best to attach your CAA Operator ID label?

I can never find the hyphen on mine so opted for a dot :joy:

It looks pretty much like my own, so, probably DittoPrint. I think I first got them via Amazon, but now prefer to get them straight from the source. (My ID cards, too.)

Yeah, i got a Brother label machine for labelling up customer folder contents/dividers, been handy for doing labels for drones as i can create the label in the pc software first then print it ( and save for next time).

Dymo label I use

I used one of these from the 80’s

Moved your post to a thread with all the information you need.

Thanks … I remember them … thought they out of fashion… :+1:

Can still be found infrequently at Aldi & Lidl who sometimes have Dymo label printers

If you DM me with your operator ID and postal address, I will print a couple of labels (black text on yellow label) on a Brother label printer, and post to you.

I often see them for sale at Costco.

Just bought one on eBay for £2

I was flying today and when I was about to send my drone up for a second flight, i noticed my Operator ID had vanished :grimacing:

I had used a label printer which has its own sticky side and then put a piece of cellotape over the top after. Do you all do anything different? I’m not sure why it fell off apart from potentially some moisture getting underneath and it working itself off. It’s only been on there for a couple of weeks though :man_shrugging:

You’ll find many solutions in the posts above and, doubtless, more will be added in response to your post.

Machines like a Dymo can use different types of label. I have both a paper tape cartridge that came with it and I’ve bought a few plastic tape cartridges. The paper tape is OK to use around the house but only lasted a few flights on my drone before showing signs it didn’t like flying. A plastic tape label has been on it for over a year.

Bring back those big old Red label machines they had on railway platforms I say…aluminium strip you printed for a few pence!

Hi,

As a new flyer (Mini 3 Pro) I have been sticking my ID number on the outside of the drone after printing onto a standard sticky label then trimming. The adhesive properties aren`t great although the number stays attached longer than I expected before requiring replacement and is far from ideal.

I wonder if any members could suggest an alternative solution, perhaps a laminate sheet from a recommended company at reasonable cost?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers
