Which app should I be using with a DJI Mini 2?

Hi I’m a newbie with a brand new Mini2 (first ever drone).

I’m trying to get info about DJI Fly versus DJI Go4.

Which app should I be using. I see some chat that says the GO4 does not work with Mavic series, while others say it does.

What is the advice here?

Thanks

The DJI Mini 2 will only work with the DJI Fly app.

GO3, GO4 and other DJI apps are for other model drones.

Thanks for the confirmation. Much appreciated

If Android, download from their website. The Play store version is old and not being updated.
Once installed from their website, it should auto update itself.

You should use DJI Fly with your Mini2 and as @Crackerjack says you must download it from the DJI website if you are using Android. Also consider apps such as UAV Forecast (to check if the current and next 24 hours weather conditions are suitable for flying), Altitude Angel or Drone Assist.

Pah, our own DroneScene is superior to both those

Can you configure the forum for word replacement? Like “Altitude Angel” is changed to “Altitude Angel (don’t you mean Dronescene?)” :joy:

Out of curiosity I searched the Play Store to see if the DJI Fly App had by chance been updated. The answer is no, and to go one further it seems the APP release from last November has been removed.

At least removing it forces buyers to look for the app, or confuses the life out of them with a drone and no app :astonished:

Scan the Q Code on the box ;o)

Look at the box? Might try that one day along with reading the instructions :joy:

Real men don’t read instructions.:rofl:

Which is why it takes us (me) two days to put a pine wine bottle rack together!

Thanks for all the reposnses.

I have been using DJIN Fly - just wanted to check it was the right app

It won’t connect to anything else (yet) but watch this space for Litchi support in the summer :crossed_fingers:

As far as I’m aware if you use anything other than the DJI Fly app with the mini 2 it could void your warranty or DJI Refresh plan if you have an issue that you need to claim on. I stand to be corrected / shot down in flames lol but I’m sure I read that somewhere.

Nothing else will connect to it

I have a similar query. I downloaded from the Play Store and everything seemed fine. I’m aware however that the latest update (and possibly others) have not automatically downloaded. After reading some of the conversations on here I have deleted the DJI Fly app and tried downloading from the official website but I get a Chrome message - “For your security, your phone is not allowed to install unknown apps from this source”. I went back and have scanned the QR code supplied in the Quick Start Guide but get the same message. Do I just ignore and carry on?

Had the drone for a couple of weeks and flown it several times!

There’s a setting somewhere on Android you’ll need to change in order to install untrusted apps.

This is a really poor show from DJI.

God only knows what they’re doing with your device and data

Thanks, have just carried on with install and everything seems okay. Will do a connection in a bit and see what happens re updates :+1:t2:
