Yorkshire meet up for Birthday Challenge Item 17

I’m wondering if there’s seven others in the Yorkshire area (roughly) who would like to meet up briefly for a photo op for the GADC Birthday Challenge item 17. We need eight drones, with at least one not DJI (7 in the photo, one to take the photo).

It has to be after 18th Aug, so I was wondering about some time over the bank holiday weekend (24th - 26th). Personally I can make pretty much any day outside that time frame (but before 1st Sep), too.

You need two brands other than DJI, :slight_smile:

17. Seven drones in the air - drone or ground camera shot. Must be taken after August 18th. You can enlist the help of both club members and non-members

  • Bonus if more than 2 brands

  • Bonus if at least one of the drones is carrying a legible GADC Birthday message (not written on its body or arms)
  • Bonus if all 7 have a legible message
  • Three bonus points if all seven are clearly visible in a shot obviously taken by drone

We would hate for you to organise a great drone party but fail to get one of the bonuses! :slight_smile:

There are a number of us, meeting at Cleethorpes on Sun 18th Aug, why not tag along to that meet?

Thanks, but the challenge stipulates that the photo has to be taken after the 18th :slight_smile: (And I presume the meet isn’t planned to go past midnight :smiley: )

Unfortunately my drone insurance doesn’t fit the “rules” for this. And I’m going to the Lakes on holiday on the 1st :slight_smile:

If your drone insurance does not include PLI then you need to seriously look at other insurers.

We will attempt this at the Big Meet - more than happy for anyone taking part to photograph the drones.

Mine does include public liability, but it’s not one of the listed insurers. I’m fairly sure (apologies if my memory is failing :slightly_smiling_face:) you had to have one of a set list of insurance companies (mine is through my house & contents insurance)

There is a box to tick if your insurer isn’t on the list. You just have to provide evidence of your insurance on the day :wink::wink:

Count me in i have someone in mind to invite for the non dji drone pilot. Also going to ask some local drone pilots in Cleethorpes area to assist should be able to make up the 8 required i can make any day/time

Meeting place to suggest is the car park adjacent to the humber mouth yact club .plenty of open space on the beach free parking.- what 3 words probe.goods.valley… once I hear from other I will try and pin point a day . Can only take the image from the 18th August. This is a spot I use a lot for flying.

I am waiting to hear back from a friend he is the only one I know that has a non dji drone.
