An early rise to get some photos without crowds of people around but the birds were waking up, quick up and down for these…

The clocktower on the Great Yarmouth Council building

The Brittania Pier on Yarmouth beach

A 10 story building, the tallest around here, the viewing tower on Yarmouth seafront

Nelsons Monument also knowns as Brittania Monument. It looks towards Nelsons birthplace in North Norfolk, apparently he spent a lot of time in Yarmouth. This is in the middle of an industrial estate.

Meanwhile, down the road in Suffolk…

Orford Castle, built between 1165 and 1173 by Henry II to consolidate power in the region.
Now looked after by English Heritage, it offers stunning views across to Orford Ness, which was a Top Secret MOD base for development of aircraft and weapons throughout the 20th Century. One day, I’ll have to explore with Foxbat…

Just up the road in Woodbridge, is Buttrum’s Windmill. There is a car park and school field nearby so I sent up my MP to take a few quick photos. I did get a bit of attention from the local birdlife, in particular (and for the first time) from some swallows and swifts! So a quick up, shoot and down!

Not sure if this is genuine, but if it is and you are near Nottingham it may be a chance for the first crop circle for the challenge - even though not technically a crop circle!

Hmmm … I have serious doubts about it’s authenticity

A quick visit to Felixstowe this evening…

First off, for the Pier category - This was an old pier, which until it was partly destroyed during WW2 to prevent a German invasion, used to carry a train line with which ships were loaded at Landguard Point. Thought it better to take a photo of this than a packed Felixstowe Pier full of Muggles…

While I was in Felixstowe, I took a photo of the beach. To the left is a Nature Reserve, home to many ground-nesting birds. If you look carefully, you’ll see a line of concrete blocks, which were used to prevent German Tanks advancing in the event of an invasion.

Ok here we have blaise castle water mill Built in 1766 and restored a few centuries later! This is still a working mill. Think used for cutting timber at the moment. Sorry not much detail to many muggles about.
