2019 Mixed Theme Challenge

Officially it’s because it’s a active church, but yeah, I suspect it’s so they can sell photos (lots of other church/attractions don’t do this)… plenty of people were breaking the rules for William the cat!

And plenty breaking the rules when I was there - just me and my “must be a good boy” head :frowning:

Also, plenty of active churches allow photography, with the bigger or more interesting ones asking payment for a photo permit - usually only a few pounds and I have no issue with that. Beyond that, this was the location of much filming for one of the Dan Brown books so some double standards ther

Weather been crappy but managed to shoot this in between rain drops.

This is Racton Monument - close by to me and when I saw the dark clouds on Tuesday I shot out to try and get before the I lost the sun. I saw afterwards (yes I should have checked!!!)that for some reason my settings had all be reset so that images were in JPG only, so not as much latitude as I would have liked.

By any chance did you install the new Go4 that’s been released in the last few days?

New update…has it fixed the crashing problem?

I’ve never had anything crash. What was crashing?

The update a couple of months ago would not work for me it just kept freezing so I just used Litchi. If you go to the play store and look at the feedback since the update nearly everyone had the same problem.

Whilst my drone/phone is on an old version (not seen a reason to update - everything works), I had to use my phone/phone a week or so ago (which was up-to-date) and had no issues.
I’d have just rolled back to the previous version (which at least one can do easily on Android) had a version introduced problems.

Yes, but never had an update reset so many changes in the past. I normally check but in a rush to get flying! Lesson learned…

Based on the fact that I’m spending the weekend building an ark! I’ve abandoned hope of getting any more B&W shots in.

Here’s Lilleshall Monument, with the Wrekin in the background, taken in a dry moment 5/6/19.
Can the next challenge be extreme weather pics??

Finally… The sun’s come out and the wind is manageable… I’m camping out with a beer and a bird in the sky… Happy days!

I wanted to start my final entry for this competition with a massive thank you to the organisers. I’ve never done anything like this before, but I’ve really appreciated having some motivation and incentive to think outside the box.

Here’s my entry. Chalfont St Giles taken on Friday evening (14/6/2019). There have been some awesome entries of buildings and landscapes that I couldn’t compete with given the recent rubbish weather - so I just tried to focus on light and something that really struck me. Hope you enjoy…

I had an idea for a great pano but I can’t get it to look right so will have to keep trying. I’ve requested help to try and complete what I was trying to do… pano enthusiasts please take a look!

My personal runner up for this entry was this - taken at the Chiltern Open air museum… looks super creepy to me - love it!

Hope you like my final entry for this challenge, I must say it has been fun having a good reason to get out and fly! The photo was taken this evening and shows Aylesford Bridge in Kent, including the Aylesford St. Peter & St. Pauls Church in the background just behind Aylesford village. I was using the tree on the left to mask a building covered in plastic sheeted scaffolding which was completely spoiling the shot.

Late again this time, but managed to get a bit of flying in between the downpours today. Bit blustery so kept the drone low, this seemed to be the best shot just after taking off.
