@Borg42 Totally agree just had a dummy run tonight before main display on Sunday .vlos, camera settings, timing of shots, cold feet n fingers & as @McSteamy2010 discovered other drones , I might just concentrate on buildings city’s towns villages houses without landscapes challenge …oh aye add spooked seagulls to the list of hazards …Alan
Well, I won’t be posting anything tonight after all. Not because of poor footage. Our central heating packed in this afternoon, expansion vessel has stopped pressurising apparently. We have hot water … just not in any of the radiators. Been trying to fix it whilst on the phone to a plumber. No joy. Fortunately it’s not freezing tonight. Gutted though, missed the main fireworks display … and that I’m gonna have to fork out a shed load of spondoolies to get the heating fixed
I’d love to get out there and give it a go, there’s loud bangs and flashes of light close by. Also 37kg of trembling Rottweiler sat firmly on my foot and anchoring me to the spot.
So no pictures from me:(
My first attempt at shooting fireworks are here
Poor Dogzilla mate, hopefully they won’t carry on all night. 🥲
I made the mistake of telling my wife there was a display on nearby at Frampton tonight, she thought I was inviting her out and I don’t have the heart to take the drone instead
Strong winds 40+mph forecast for my venue from 3pm today through the night and tomorrow…that’s game over for me !
Honestly, this taking photos at night is harder than it looks … this is my attempt last night to capture the literally 100s of fireworks being let off … if you look really closely, you should be able to make out the one I managed to get!!!
Not sure I’ll do any better this weekend, so this is my entry
Not a bad first attempt @ximi practice makes perfect. get back in the sky’s tonight.
I’m a wuss…
I just paranoid of a rocket firework (A version of an Exocet missile) getting my mini 2 in the first 10 seconds of take off!
I just made a comment like that on FB where someone flew through the cloud of sparks. BALLS of STEEL.
My view was there were too many ground to air missiles around.
Spent 15 minutes trying to video a 360 around the town but this must have been the worst year for fireworks, never known it so quiet. This is the only one I captured.
I see it nice one Terry.
70km gusts tonight …43km forecast for display night tomorrow here in South Shields …if we have a postponement I might get a chance of an entry yet …everything’s charged ready to go !
Palm trees work just fine, Great photo Steven @sunstone
Fantastic Mick @mwpai
Great entry
I have taken several shots following an ‘eventful’ firework display this evening over here.
I am sure I have taken better ‘more traditional’ shots this evening, but I love this one, as to me it looks like Megatron under attack by a flying white horse
Excellent choice from your amazing set Chris, Thanks for your entry.
