Another drone flyer on the way to court

no matter what ,we all know that there are always going to be those, who think that the law, and regulations about anything don’t apply to them ,especially if some cost is involved
all we can do is choose as individual’s ,which path we take ,its fine to let off steam on forums like these ,i have done it myself ,but sadly at the end of the day nothing will change, drones and drone flying are not high up on the political agenda and quite frankly these days joe public is more interested in trying to survive than worrying about drones

On Geeksvana’s Q&A podcast last night, they mentioned about the follow me/ tracking mode on many drones and how there’s a lot of videos of them tracking cars/ motorbikes. One thing that worried them was the increasing risk of someone doing this, then concentrating on the drone rather than the road ahead. I’d have said that if an accident happened, the driver would be charged with driving without due care and attention, but one of the hosts pointed out that if a drone was part of the reason, then there could be knock on consequences for all drone operators. Wouldn’t be much of a stretch of the imagination to see that an accident could cause the death of an innocent third party.:wink:

Much like Boris and his lockdown parties, or that tw@t advisor who drove 300 miles, testing his eyesight :joy::joy::joy::joy::joy:

Thing is I’m not against people not following the rules, just have issue with them not applying common sense while doing it. Like don’t fly over a football ground when a match is on. Don’t fly in the same airspace as other aircraft. Don’t fly above peoples heads. Just standard common sense.

If you want to fly in a forest, inside an FRZ (for example, I watched a video of a guy flying a whoop in a forest near Gatwick, close to the ground, never above the tree canopy), I don’t honestly care as long as you are below the tree line. If a plane manages to hit you inside a forest, it’s likely they just crashed anyway. Just use common sense.

I have to say I agree with that entirely!

Just because you can do something doesn’t always mean you should.

Too many people are going down the (American) “the law says i can so i will” route without engaging common sense.

No one has ever been killed by a drone and the last time recently and alleged drone incident was at Gatwick I was stupid helium birthday balloons they are always quick to drop onto the drone option

It’s quite feasible that the “never confirmed” drones at Gatwick were purely as a way of getting out of having to pay compensation along with the embarrassment of a major system failure at the airport.
I don’t know if there’s any truth in it, yet we have still no proof that these sighting were real. So easy to blame their inadequacies on drones.

Properly should go to prison for that. AS THE MATCH WAS STOPED

Another wholly accurate stock photo in use by BBC News I see…

It’s like nobody flies a sub 250g drone these days, we all fly Inspires and Matrices or larger as far as the media are concerned :flushed:

And from that article, Chesterfield lost the following week against Notts County in the playoffs. ( probably still upset by the drone incident no doubt) :joy::joy::joy::joy::joy:

Ha ha…

Deeply ironic - might teach him and similar fools a lesson…

Ouch!!! three and a half grand for being a muppet!!!
Cases like this should be more widely publicised, just to show people what can happen if you’re a twat.

TBH, it’s nothing. Didn’t Nurk get about $20k fine for his train surfing video. Given the fact a drone is going to make bollocks all difference to a massive freight train if it got run over, I considered it to be a bit excessive.

But 2.5k for disrupting a football match and flying like a bell end, is probably cheap. If they’d thrown him in the clink for three months, that would have been harsh. Still it’s probably buggered up his job if he works anywhere high end. Criminal record will likely revoke any clearances you have and screw up anything else that requires a DBS.

it was 3.5k in total, still not a huge amount but I don’t think he works anywhere high end, he got done for driving without insurance at the same time
Plus I would guess he had his kit confiscated too. An expensive day for a few minutes of flying.

Failing to stop for police and driving without insurance were bigger parts of the fine. Around 1200 drone fines I believe.

Take his driving license off him first imo!
