Just had a phone call from home, apparently my Nano + has turned up so I may have to take my negative comments back.
Looks like a successful, much needed updateš
Shame it wasnāt windy, as that is where I wanted to see an improvement.
Still some teething issues, gimbal self checking, downward avoidance sensors not working on Android. But getting there, yet itās still a shame that some customers have had to wait 4 months after buying this, in order get this update. Notwithstanding many others are still waiting for their order (if they havenāt already cancelled).
I have seen videos where the downward sensors are working, there is also a histogram option(that was missing before)now. Apparently my Nano + arrived this morning so I will be getting it ready for a test flight tomorrow as soon as I get home.
Keen to hear how you get on. Perhaps testing in ludicrous mode at the top of a windy hill
There you go again with the wanting to lose shit
No, I have changed. Now I suggest that other people do it.
Glad to see you have learned, why take the risk yourself when you can get other peeps to do itā¦
Arrived yesterday, when I bought it on March 29 they said 3-5 day delivery on their website. 2 days later I got an email from them saying estimated delivery would be 26 April-1 May. I kicked up a stink with their customer service desk and it arrived 6 April, I class that as a result. Would love to test it against the Mini 2 today but with winds gusting upto 60 mph my gonads are not as big as @clinkadink so it will have to sit until the weekend.
Itās not boxing day - so wind gusts in the lounge shouldnāt be too much of a challenge ā¦
I do like the orange, as a McLaren F1 team fan.
Let us know how you get on with it. Iām tempted, but I must admit the Mini 3 hype is now starting to excite me more. Iāll certainly be waiting for the comparison specs at least.
Yep I am interested in the Mini 3 specs but not interested in purchasing another DJI product, I have a Mini 2 and a M2P and to be honest I am fed up with dealing with DJI geo zones, I have two near me that are not restricted airspace yet DJI will not let me fly there, however, Blackpool airport NFZ is not a DJI geo zone so I can fly within that NFZ with no problems(not that I do without contacting the ATC there). I am done with DJI deciding where I can and cannot fly.
This
Out of interest, sorry to take this off topic (maybe move more suitable or once this answered we get back off DJI chat) having never used the Go app, is it just the Go App that this is a major problem. On the Fly app Iāve never had any issues. Just agree to take responsiblity and when I did fly in a DJI Geo Zone - Here for EG. Where can I fly my drone in the UK? - View this shared location on Drone Scene! I just had to punch my phone number into the app, again take responsibility for the flight, and it gave me clearance to fly.
For me, both go and Fly because they both use the same database. Example, this area is between 2 NFZās but DJI will not allow me to fly there without an unlock code and to get that you need an email from the airfield CT but they are not really interested because you are not actually in either airfields NFZ. Where you have linked to is class D airspace which does not apply to UAVās under 20kg so that is another prime example of DJI interfering with your flight for no reason.(There is St Andrews stadium in the area which may be a no fly zone when a match is on but you would not fly over crowds anyway).
Its the stadium which is a DJI Geo Zone.
Exactly, it is a DJI geo zone, why??? it is not listed as any sort of restricted zone on any of the CAA recognised drone apps.
Because DJI. Because they take a one-size-fits-all approach around the whole world regardless of local restrictions and laws, and they ādecideā it should be made difficult to fly near stadia.
Thatās my actual question, With the Fly App. It wasnāt difficult. I got a 2FA code and had permission to take off within a few meters of the stadium within a minute all within the app. So my question was if the difficulty was more a Go App issue rather than A Fly app issue. Obviously @Diveuk issue may be more difficult because it thinks he needs ATC permission to fly in his linked area.
Simple.
Getting permission from a Chinese company to fly where there is no UK legal restriction is beyond crass.
If thereās also a UK restriction, then it means you need TWO permissions.
Well - only one to physically be able to fly there, but a different one to legally fly there.
