Autel Evo Nano - sub 250g drone - Rumours, leaks, gossip and general discussion

It was £859 at Wex. To be honest, with no meaningful supply or support in Europe or the UK, and the issues with poor wind handling, I’m losing my interest in buying another lemon…

Daymmnnn… this cheeky reseller at Amazon has stuck another £200 notes on top :scream:

Good spot @milkmanchris !

This is a shame because I’ve been keeping a sly eye on these. I figured one of these might make me feel less bad about replacing my lost Mini 1 with another Mini 1, rather than upgrading to the 2. If the Mini 2 is still the best sub-250g in town then I may end up with one yet. :exploding_head:

I am going to the USA in May, I may come back with a small orange toy in my carry on(have not seen them available here yet).

Which model?
Scan PC have the Autel Nano+ in stock £720

they are all the same as Currys and Wex, pre order only…

The Amazon ones are £200- £300 overpriced £1049,

I managed to get a premium orange nano plus from a place called Buzzflyer.
Really good service, and answered my queries straight away, before and after ordering.
Delivered the following morning before 9am.

As for the drone, not had much flying time yet, but despite some of the negativity ive seen in reviews and heard, its a cracking piece of kit.
Maybe after some of the reviews i was expecting the worst, but it felt no different to flying a mini2.

No issue whatsover in generally same conditions I have flown my mini2 in. No jello effects, really crisp, sharp video footage.
Signal strength is really good, it flew in areas where the mini2 would lose signal (even with that being hacked in FCC mode)

I do have a few niggles with the way the app is laid out, and some of the functionality seems a bit weird or non-working, but that should change with updates…hopefully.

edit: Just checked it appears they are out of stock too now.

Thanks, I will wait until May, even with the poor exchange rate buying from US is still much cheaper than buying in UK.

Don’t forget US prices are without tax - ours include 20% VAT

Can make all the difference.

If you purchase from a store in the USA, they will add sales tax which will vary upon which state you are in.

Even Amazon in the USA will add sales tax, depending upon your location.

I am really over Autel.
No European stock. And their drones are crap in a breeze… No idea what when this latest model will be released but it will be old by the time it is… Happily moving my enthusiasm to the Mini 3…

Btw. As you may have seen from yesterday’s video, I’m just recovering from a major knee op. It hurts like fk and I’m pretty spaced out on painkillers… Hence the bluntness

The Nano + does look tempting, but when you crash it and it requires attention, where do you send it? Is there any European backup?

Exactly… And is there any european stock or parts to replace it? Plus it’s very poor in wind apparently…

Uk stock. Apparently. :man_shrugging:

But is there any European backup? Let’s be fair, we’ve seen enough reported accidents on here with the Mini 2 causing folk to revert to DJI’s Care Refresh for replacement where applicable and a few tears shed where it’s not. From time to time, spares and service are needed. The Nano + isn’t cheap and obstacle avoidance is no guarantee that it won’t get binned! I won’t spend that amount of money on something that can’t be repaired.

From a quick google.

“Note: Autel Robotics Care is currently only available in United States and Canada.”

Not sure that crashing it would be covered by the ‘quality defects’ aspect of their warranty!!. Whilst I appreciate that the Nano + is well reviewed and has remarkable performance for a drone of its size, until Autel can provide comprehensive backup, I’ll probably buy a Mini 3 if I can justify it (and I can convince the wife that it’s worth buying!).
