Back pack, rucksack, hard case and soft-case recommendations

I ended up buying 2 x Lowepro bags the smaller one I use for the Mavic Pro and accessories including a small camera, the bigger one I use for the drone equipment plus Canon 5Ds camera two lenses and other accessories the larger one has plenty of space but Its heavy to carry about when full. But they are well made bags.

You’ve had a lot of great responses, so thought I’d share my set up with you as well. It’s perhaps more than you need, but as you’ll see from the photos, LowePro offer a smaller version as well. These are both from the Protactic range - the 350 and 450: https://www.lowepro.com/us-en/collection/protactic/

I use the larger one to hold my Mavic Pro 2 with FlyMore (complete, with the carry case and 5 batteries), the Smart Controller, Battery dock charger, other chargers and cables, ND Filter case, plus my Ronin S Gimbal, GoPro Max and dual charger, plus my Mavic Mini Fly More (complete in case). The mini can be removed from the top opener and I can access my GoPro from the side opener. In the main back compartment, I keep my landing mat and OS maps.

This gives me a ‘grab bag’ for everything I might need to throw in the truck for a Mavic flight plus things I might need to complement my Digital camera rig for stills and video. To be honest, the 350 is more than enough for the kit you’re proposing to pack, but if you want room for some clothes or a picnic, or other kit in future, then you won’t go wrong with the 450.

Neither is cheap though but I’ve found https://www.parkcameras.com/ to have some good deals (+ Amazon of course). The great thing about these tough bags is that you can attach all kinds of things to the outside as well, such as tripods. Both come with accessories straps and a pouch for this purpose. The other nice thing about this set up is that I can still just take my Mini of Mavic Fly More in their own cases for a day-trip and leave the rest behind if I don’t need anything else.

Hope this helps, and good luck!

See my post on the LowePro ProTactic bags. These will easily accommodate and are tough as nails.

As an added benefit, the ProTactic bags have a water-proof cover in the base. Useful if you get caught out in bad weather.

I got this one form M2P ÂŁ10 brand new:

Shop is opposite the market Birmingham town centre

I have got a Lowepro DroneGuard BP250
There is enough room for my Mavic 2 Pro with smart controller extra batteries and a Lumix camera.
Also got room for a 10" tablet and a 15" laptop and room to carry some food.
Longest ride so far has been 60 miles and it was comfortable.
Bought a waterproof cover for when i get caught out in the rain.

Hey Brian,

That looks a really good recommendation.
Have you tried adding a hydration pack to it and is there enough room?

Dave

Got a cheapo semi hard case the my Mavic 2. Didn’t like the Mavic 2 upended sat on its camera in the fly more kit. Only a cheapo £17 but fits everything in you need for a afternoon out.

Comes with a handle and a shoulder strap.

Ooh that looks just the job

Ordered one a few days ago from a different seller but looks the same

I had a case just like this for my Mavic Pro, think it was branded ‘Smatree’?

FYI, that seller is in China, despite having ‘uk’ in their user name

Great cases tho

Ordered one off eBay it’s more of a soft bag but it’s a tight fit on the equipment for my liking. Like the colour coordination you’ve done

You mean my mavic ? Yea, I skinned it just to make it easier to see it when flying below the tree line of if worst comes to worst I need to find it up a tree or in a bush,

As a side they do some great accessories too, best GoPro pole I ever bought and batteries for everything that just work

Just got one of these from Amazon… excellent quality (I think) and very sturdy.

But check this company name on the packaging  It’s a winning Scrabble score if you could bend words 90 degrees!!

Hi I am looking for a backpack case for my Mavic Pro 2. The lowepro cases CS300 CS400 now seam very cheap… I am after something to drop into the boot of the car and to go on short walks. I currently have a hard Peli type case from my Mavic one and since adding a Mavmount and Ipad I have just out grown it. Anyone used these cases and have any thoughts or alternatives. Cheers

I have the Lowepro BP200 for my M2P. It holds my drone (obviously), 2 spare batteries, controller, iPad, tablet mount, landing mat, sunglasses, filters and SD card case. I could probably squeeze a bit more in too.

@Midway have moved your post to an existing (and very detailed) thread about backpacks / soft cases.

Cheers Mod.
