Bambu Lab 3D Printers

Auto bed levelling, yep, K1C does that as well.
Foreign object detection prior to print start, Yep.
First layer problem recognition, Yep that as well.
Issues during printing (spaghetti etc), yep that as well.
Printing multiple parts and one part has a problem (print detachment), can instruct printer to ignore that part and continue printing the rest (can be done remotely if required). Yep.

Seems to me that the only difference is a letter, X instead of a K. As you say each to their own and glad you are happy, but the cynic in me suspects that BL are slowly taking their users down the slippery slope to locking them into their products only. Think HP inkjet printers, had one for a couple of years, but after various software updates found it more and more difficult to use 3rd party cartridges, ones that worked before an update wouldn’t work afterwards, even ones that were already in the printer and had worked. Genuine HP cartridge prices were becoming extortionate so binned it for a printer with ink tanks.

At the end of the day, you make your choice and pay your money.

This super tack plate is just what I needed for prototyping especially multiple iterations for refining parts. The printer is munching only 65W or 5W / min for this simple part…I’ll be getting another cool plate me thinks…

Latest design part which marries Sunnylife battery strap to the Axisflying carbon frame, should save the Avata battery from ejecting…

Best printer I’ve ever had, looking forward to the next BBL…

I only bought their smallest printer so I get to work out if this kick off is even an issue for me without too much investment. Probably not. And I wont have an AMS so no way for it to check if Im using their filament or not if that ends up a thing. Apparently its finally been shipped :+1:

Even if they did check I use their rfid reels again and again with third party filament’s, I made a transfer rig and can transfer from any full reel to an empty with my drill in less than 2 mins, I also do it for cardboard reels, I see it as scare mongering, they have done it ever since Bambu Lab came out just over 2 years ago

I use Sunlu filament in the AMS having first created a profile, the X1C has an external filament feed which the AMS is oblivious to, so one can just feed the filament that way.

I have different filaments in the AMS i.e ABS, ASA,PLA, PLA Aero etc. all you do is fool the AMS in accepting they are all the same type but be sure the filament you’re printing with isn’t low enough to require a filament slot change…

Personally I’m not fazed by the changes that are afoot…

The A1 mini arrived today. Have done some small tests then straight into printing a dummy air 3 battery that can be used to store the propellers.

The quality of the machine and its capability Im completely lost how they have managed to build such a thing and ship it to me for £160 odd. At that price I think it will be very easy to push work to buy one too.

Having watched how hassle free these Bambu printers are for the last 18 months, and the quality of the multi-coloured prints, I’m sure it’s only a matter of time :pensive:

Not at them price I aren’t :scream:

“but it will outlive all the others” especially if you’re printing the more abrasive filaments.

I use PLA 85% of the time, I use the Revo so I can change the inner only, it works for me
