is this correct, as i had a zoom back from care refresh that registered as a pro. is it not a firmware thing to deal with the camera.

There is no difference in the firmware … it’s a “Mavic 2” in firmware terms.

The plane name probably doesn’t change.

Just checked this with a flight I know I had the zoom camera on for as captured a dolly zoom.
It’s still showing as an M2P on air data.
When starting up drone with GO4 it’s detected as a zoom.

What if you upload into a new account that never saw it as an M2P?

Yup.
Airdata might log the model against a serial number, or something, within one account … so the change doesn’t get recognised.
In a new account it doesn’t have M2P already logged for that serial number.
