DJI ban just went through Passed by 57-1 in NDAA authorization as Rep Austin Scott stated at 9:23am, He stated it “removed communist China from our Supply Chain”
Update: looks like it made it through the committee (57-1), and is now out for open debate, then the vote today, or maybe tomorrow?

Interesting on the cameras, mics, and I guess the FPV side of things too. If the wording is the FCC to DJI stuff, then wow too. OK it’s not gonna stop working after a ban, but… CADDX or HDZero sponsored this ban at all I think?
This really is worrying, as when the US sneezes the world catches a cold!

Of course, if the ban ends up only applying to new drones and not existing (i.e. they don’t revoke existing certs, just refuse to issue further) the inverse may be true, because every American drone flyer will want as many of the existing models as possible to try and see them through the dark times waiting for American drone companies to reach parity…

What a bunch of hypocrites the US government is if they pass this legislation. Think they & other countries’ security services don’t spy on us day in & day out anyway & pass on the information to other governments? Within a year of leaving school in the early 1960’s I was threatened with being made redundant due to the economic recession & freezing winter of 1963, in reaction to which I joined a campaign against youth unemployment in particular as over all unemployment hit 1 million for the first time since the Wall Street Crash of the 1930’s, indeed my photo appeared in our local newspaper chairing a public meeting against youth unemployment. Twenty years later my sister’s husband decided on retiring after 20 years in the Canadian Air Force to seek employment in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police as he was still only in his 40’s. My sister informed me that he was grilled by RCMP security about his brother-in-law’s political beliefs from 20 years previously!
