This podcast is well worth a listen in the background of your day.
@Mads-Tech shares his thoughts too.
What do you Brits think about the USA proposed ban on DJI and do you think the EU will do something similar. If you guys do not do any type of Ban, you will probably get the opportunity to purchase some great drones at low prices.
Well, I think a ban on DJI products is rather short sighted by US officials. I canāt see any security issues with DJI drones being used by first responders as an aid in emergency situations ( unless theyāre using them in the White House when sleepy Joe has got lost again )
A short video from half chrome with his thoughts on the ban & what he thinks will happen to the DJI drones all ready owned,
I donāt think there will be a DJI ban in Europe or the UK; we have a different relationship with the Chinese, one in which the huge imports from there counterbalance our healthy mistrust of the Yellow Peril. I doubt very much that there is any credible threat to national security from DJI drones, or any other of the enormous amount of consumer goods we import from nations not politically aligned to the West in general, China and Vietnam in particular. That said, the US has a radically different attitude to outside threats, no doubt at least in part as a result of being caught out twice by devastating surprise attacks, at Pearl Harbour in 1942 and the 9/11 attacks in 2011.
Most of the Western European countries have had experience of terrorist campaigns; IRA here, ETTA in Spain, Communist groups in Germany and Italy in the 60s and 70s, and Islamic Fundamentalist attacks everywhere over the last two decades. But none have had the scale or impact of 9/11, which has returned the US to the days of McCarthy paranoia and affected the entire globe.
So, while we may be a bit dismissive of American knee-jerk reactions on our side of the pond, it is as well to remember the deep impact that the Pearl Harbour and 9/11 attacks had on the American psyche. Clearly, US drone hobbyist are horrified by the prospect of losing access to DJI drones, but the general view may well be different I suspect.
As for European/UK markets being flooded with cheap DJI drones that cannot be sold in the States, dream on, guys, the cost of postage from that side of the Atlantic will be passed on to buyers here, and there will be much less significant savings, if any. There may be some bargains to be had if dealers here import large numbers of unsaleable drones from the US, but my cynical soul suggests that a quick buck will be the main driver of this, not passing on savings to customers!
Well, Iād immediately say none of those were committed by the Chineseā¦ā¦ā¦. But, I personally think the US politicians are more driven by these lobbyists, giving them money, than by actual facts. How else do you explain politicians becoming multi millionaires within years of being elected ? They are as corrupt as Putinās election results
Couple of good points in this 8 min ish clip from 51 drones, maybe be worth a watch over a coffee or tea,
Hawk Tuahā¦

For those of you who prefer reading to YouChoob talking heads:
I am wondering if the ban will prevent DJI drones from being brought into the USA?
I assume so, otherwise someone could just buy a drone in Canada or the Caribbean and bring it back home.
So just wondering how it might affect anyone going on holiday.
If itās FCC ban itāll be illegal to use the radio frequencies, so no you couldnāt do that. Sure was covered by one of the YouTube videos Iāve seen on the subject
But then the frequencies can still be used by older approved DJI drones and other makes
So it must only be certain drones will be stopped. Not sure customs would know which drones are banned.
I believe that the new Air 3S will not be affected.
They could revoke the auth. I guess if you got something authād to be used (i.e. this drone Mini2 is fine to use 2.4/5.8ghz ranges), that could be revoked. Iām pretty sure that is the case. not that they using new or changed frequencies though is it?
