@scottydog It’s still at v1.6.8 for Android currently: https://www.dji.com/uk/downloads/djiapp/dji-fly
I’ve just checked both tablets ( iOS & android ) and both are already on v1.6.8 so didn’t need to worry after all but thank you for the confirmation.
V1.6.9 released … certainly for iOS. As usual - DJI download centre indicates V1.6.8 but download is actually V1.6.9
Wish DJI would specify which issues they have fixed
Certain issues ;o)
The latest version has improved the artificial horizon significantly at least.
Me too, it’s absolute fucking bollocks that they don’t
Same with their firmware release notes too.
Thing is we’re trained in A2CofC etc. that we should use the most up to date firmware version to ensure our aircraft operates and performs as intended.
Problem is in manned aviation, and also basically anywhere in tech, it’s expected that there’s full transparency as to what’s been changed between firmware/software versions and nothing short of that is seen as trustworthy. Regulators need to get on top of this IMO because we should know what’s being changed on our aircraft and controller’s software.
Is there a mainstream company that does this ?
Not true most DJI releases are flawed with issues and some are dangerous
I am using a Old firmware that I know works and I have tested same for the app
Yeah I was criticising that narrative.
I’ll stick with manned civil aviation for now but Boeing got in serious trouble for not fully disclosing the behaviour and characteristics of the MCAS system when it started causing… well… issues.
If we’re supposed to be held to civil aviation safety standards then so should manufacturers which includes full transparency and disclosure as to the behaviour of the systems on the aircraft.

I believe the warranty requires that as well.
Not sure that’ll be of much comfort to whoever or whatever it crashes into if they make a safety compromising update.
Would have thought a liability issue would arise.
You might be liable if you didn’t upgrade, but DJI might be if you did.

I believe the warranty requires that as well.
Probably any insurance you hold too.

I believe the warranty requires that as wel
I am still to hear of a warranty refusal because a firmware or app version
In fact we’ve seen them given on quite dubious Airdata too

In fact we’ve seen them given on quite dubious Airdata too
Could this be a sort of admission by DJI themselves that their warranties have more holes than a fishing net? Or have I been over generous with my medication again?

Wish DJI would specify which issues they have fixed
Probably more useful if they listed the new issues they’ve introduced?
