DJI Fly - App updates and download links

Geo location same as RID

It’s being reported that Hacked FCC apps are overiding the 120m limit in the EU

So with my Plus battery does it automatically disable C0 i wonder…

Not sure DroneHacks can do a lot. FCC aside there’s a lack of useful hacks for any newer firmware drones. My Mavic 2 Pro remains the most “flexible” regarding that.

Or will it stop it from taking off

It looks like DJI have gotten their Knickers in a twist again with the latest update :scream:

It’s been kicking off about the Height limit in the EU with the Mini 3 and they seem to have admitted it’s an error

If you click on the Andriod v1.10.4 link it actually downloads v1.10.6

Nothing yet for Apple

I’m alarmed to see the latest DJI Fly update limmits the max height to 120M in Europe for DJI Minis

Her’s the story: https://www.youtube.com/feed/history

I’ve sent this to DJI support, if you’re bothered you might want to send something simmilar/

I’ll report back if hear anything useful by way of reply.

Hi,

I am very concerned to hear the Latest DJI Fly update limits Minis in Europe to 120 metres. This prevents legal use, in the UK as described under Point 37 of the CAA’s drone code “If the person or organisation responsible for a very tall structure over 105m asks you to carry out a task related to their structure, you’re allowed to fly higher than 120m (400ft). For example, if they ask you to take pictures for a survey. You must never fly more than 15m above the structure. Your drone or model aircraft must be within 50m of the structure horizontally when flying over 120m (400ft).”

The new limit in the app severely limits the use of Minis for commercial work. Ironically this will increase risk where operators will now need to fly a heavier drone in when inspecting very tall structures. It will also inhibit users from updating DJI Fly, a further risk to safety.

I am upset that functionality I can legally use and paid a considerable price for , has been removed (without even any warning). The UK is not regulated by EASA rules, there is no regulatory requirement for this limit in the UK.

Does this limit also affect apps using the API? If so apps Dronelink may be a partial workaround.

Adrian @SkyOkapi I’ve moved your post to an existing topic where this is already being discussed

And it is not limited to the U/K Read :point_up_2:

This is yet another reason not to update

On Apple and the RC controllers as you can’t roll back

Thanks @PingSpike. My bad.

Yes, I can confirm it is now 1.10.6

Looks like we missed 1.10.5 yesterday :joy:

You mean I need to hack again?

IOS updated now to 1.10.6

No need for an YT spam :+1:

Confirming 1.10.6 returns configurable altitude limits to their previously available values on iOS.

Turns out it was a bug and they’ve fixed it now.

Hmmm, I suspect a decision they made then regreted. Bit if a coincidence for a bug to exactly match the regulators altitude limmit.

Either way great news, thanks for the info.

It is also the default setting, the figure was likely derived from that.

And I thought I was cynical

True though.
