Simply because if I don’t have the zoom I know that I would miss it the first time.
Plus saw a great photo today which would not have been possible without the lens.

You mean the DJI Mini 3? 
The Mini doesn’t have zoom either?
(They dropped the Mavic name from the <250g range after the Mini v1)
I don’t think so, Rich, quite sure Ian is referring to the Mavic 3 non-Classic models (with the zoom).

Once I managed to figure out how to use the backpack mode (ok I had to search YouTube) I’m pretty impressed by it. I can get a lot of junk into it when used as a backpack!

Quick question for other Mavic 3 owners… Course lock: am I missing something?
I know there’s a course lock option with the Hyperlapse mode, but have DJI ditched it entirely for plain video shooting, or am I missing something obvious? I’ve had a Google, but only found references to the Hyperlapse setting.
I quite like cruise control, but I miss being able to lock a course then swing 90º and have the drone continue sideways as the Mavic 2 would.
Purchased a Mavic 3 - but sending it back.
Still bound to the previous owner and seems impossible to unbind it.
Shame as it was a good price on Amazon (as new) - doubt it has flown much as looks in perfect condition.

DJI website not giving it away either, already got a RC with the mini 3 but now i have 2.
As far as I’m aware, you can buy the drone on it’s own now.

Mavic 3 Cine has been reduced to £3799 on Amazon with 12 months interest free available.
New firmware (v01.00.0300) out today introduces:
- 4k 24/25fps Night Mode
- Waypoints
- Optimised flight altitude limit
No release notes yet so will leave @PingSpike to update the firmware thread (don’t want to mess up the formatting 
)
Must admit, I’ve been hoping for Waypoints. Have a specific use-case for those right now.

Just updated my M3 today and Waypoints has returned and is so grown up, you can even make saves with just the RC or mobile and then action them once connected to your Mavic where you planned to fly, so many things to play with, can’t wait to give it a whirl
