@SparkyFPV I’m usually the same, last thing to try is downgrading the RC to firmware V01.02.0300 through assistant, then try updating it though RC.
How’s it gonna know it’s speed without GPS? I’m not sure the vision sensors give a speed even though they can position hold…
V01.02.0300 is app version 1.9.1
V01.02.0400 is app version 1.9.4
So V01.02.0500 is app version 1.9.8
If anyone’s updating I’d definitely check on the DJI Assistant to see if the latest firmware (V01.02.0500 app version 1.9.8) for your RC is available before doing the 01.00.0500 aircraft update.
Updated my mini 3 Pro and RC this afternoon both fine, drone works fine all is well as far as I can tell.
Excellent update, but likely for me to only have benefits in cine mode (ie tripod mode!)
The startup fault for the c-n-s mode switch remains, where it does not read this switch position and simply starts in ‘normal’ mode irrespective of the physical such position.
I’m sad (but not surprised) that waypoints were not added, as that would have been icing on the cake!
That is the way with all DJI drones, it’s a safety feature

Yeah, I got the same prob when I updated at 6pm tonight, the Aircraft went to 1.00.05 no probs but the RC stayed at 1.02.04 with Fly App at 1.9.4.
Possible that 1.02.05 / Fly 1.9.8 had a problem and DJI pulled the updates ??
@jon1 does that mean it’s grounded as the controller in theory isn’t compatible with the aircraft ? and wait for another update.
I had exactly the same experience this evening. I also noticed that when I switched to my other batteries it did not need to update the firmware on them.
Seems there’s a lot of people having problems updating the DJI RC controller.
Looks like the old faithful RC-N1’s coming back out to the rescue.
I updated both yesterday (mini 3 pro and controller) switched it on to this morning to check the update number and my controller is updating again to V01.02.0600

Apparently there’s another fly app update, 
Maybe hence why some have had trouble updating the RC
Just about to go out and fly. Checked the RC and found the 2.06 update. When it’s installed I’ll go through everything else
