Most of the YouTubers are given them for free, so give glowing reviews, so take them with a pinch of salt, what you really should be asking yourself is, what do I actually need them for, and when will I be using them, if at all.
You use ND filters to slow down the shutter speed in bright conditions. That way you get more detail out of otherwise bright areas. More importantly, you slow the shutter speed when recording video smoothing the movement (“motion blur”). In general, you should aim for 2 times the recording fps, for example, ideally if you record 4k @ 30 fps, you should have shutter speed 60fps. Without ND filter, this is not possible on a bright day.
I have Freewell’s filters and they are good quality.
What comes to UV filters, they are unnecessary nowadays. You only use them to protect the lens, but the default lens protector does the same job.
Hi mate
No I don’t think there made by dji , I was trawling eBay and see those and remembered they was mentioned yesterday so was just trying to help and thought I’d post the link here
There’s others on Amazon , didn’t know they had to be dji branded
You can find them on eBay from various sellers, the cost is under £12. It’s great because it doesn’t interfere with controls or ports and the sticks are properly protected. The lid has two “settings” for the angle.
Not the most robust feeling plastic, but sturdy enough and for the price, not a big loss if you break it.
