DJI Mini 3 Pro - Rumours, leaks, gossip and general discussion, reviews

They’d need two of each RF chip, costs etc

Costs less than two RCs though … hopefully?

You’d think so

But the bottom line, they’re in the business of selling hardware.

They need to build a level of obsolescence in to all their products to keep their bank balance happy

I mean - YEARS ago I had a transistor radio that I could listen to more than 1 radio station!

I saw something I am trying to find it now, but it said that Ocusync 4.0 was going to be released on the upcoming Mavic 3S around October, and that that was going to be released with a new RC Pro too, very much doubt the Mini 3 will have anything more than Ocusync 3.0

They might sell more drones … their core operation. Their raison d’etre isn’t “Makers of RCs.”. :stuck_out_tongue:

I fully agree…It’s the same with Women… :scream:

That surprises me… I thought most experienced flyers had little desire for active track and even obstacle avoidance to a certain degree… I rarely use the smart shots because I like to fly things myself, manually, to get that moving rolling video.
So I’m a bit intrigued; what AI stuff are you thinking? Cos from where I sit, almost all AI is utter bollocks unless you’re Google Maps learning how I drive… (how does it get my arrival time right to within 2 minutes despite be driving like a donkey for 3 hours???)

Isn’t that the Autel operating model for all their actual drones??

I think that’s the sound business model of anyone who manufactures anything in any sector

Apple being the most obvious example of that business model…

There’s a lot more to drone technology, and the technology in Drones, than the ability to perform automated selfies.

There’s no denying there will be some exciting tech under the hood of the Mini-3, I just feel that the way DJI like to lock 3rd parties out of access to these functions that overall it’s a waste to limit it to basic video and photo use.

As for AI, even simple AI used for face recognition and object tracking, as that used in the PowerEgg X, can be interesting to play with when you adapt it for some off label uses. Even the 3DR Solo, considered to be a dinosaur drone by many, has been developed by the opensource community to perform tasks and routines outside of its original roll as a simple Gopro carrier.

Similarly the Intel Real Sense that was supplied on some of Yuneec’s Typhoon H Drones would still today make DJI’s sensor use look archaic.

Only as recently as the early 2010’s there was so much diversity and excitement in consumer drone tech, but today that essense appears to have been distilled down to just another social media activity.

It sort of reminds me of a line from the movie Idiocracy which when paraphrased was:

“With all the advancement in medicine and gene therapy that the future had to offer, the public were only interested in preventing hair loss and longer lasting errections.”

Translates to English straight away

DJI Mini 3 Pro online early: 4K/60 fps, 48 MP, up to 47 (!) minutes of flight time

And … it includes the controller for €829 (£689).

The product page was spotted by an observant Dronewatch reader. This is a page dedicated to the DJI Mavic Mini 3 Pro with RC1 N1 Controller (EAN 6941565929402), which will be on sale for 829 euros.

That feature to spin the lens sounds good, hope it can be done form the controller or phone.
I will be looking at getting the one with the RC Pro controller, I shake a lot and nearly dropped my phone trying to get it into the controller on my Mini 2 the other day, so an all in one makes more sense for me

Wow … that is amazing. I wouldn’t expected an extra 200mAh to provide that. They must have improved some other areas too. Realistically, it probably means about 35 minutes, but that is still a good 10 minutes more than what we have today.

That’s not the flymore combo though?

Correct. But I thought you were suggesting that the price would be 928 without a controller?

Drone with no controller = 739

Drone with flymore, still no controller = 928

Drone with controller = 829

Drone with flymore and controller = 1018
