Anyhoo maiden flight done, What did I like you ask ? Wow it’s quiet hard to determine where it’s coming from when returning to TOAL spot took the Mini 2 as well had no problem hearing that at all. The camera is amazing, It’s quite swift I’ve changed to imperial as I like MPH can’t be doing with MPS & the on the fly conversion. Sounds silly but much easier to spot at distance took it out to 1400ft (426m) before it became difficult to relocate after looking away. What I didn’t like is the lack of ground clearance I went out without the landing pad & the props couldn’t rotate on very short grass, The knowledge that it’s expensive so manoeuvres I’m confident to perform with the Mini 2 your wary of with the Mini 3, Herring gulls want to kill & eat it never had this issue before the Mini 2 they’ve always ignored I’m assuming they don’t like the noise ? Did a little transmission test from an elevated position 1.06 Miles before video dropout at that point I bricked it switched it to sports mode & powered it back to homepoint. All in all a decent afternoon 9km of hiring around not bad for a first outing ?
Also the RC is fantastic as you can see it was a fantastically sunny day on the Rock not once did I struggle to see the screen 700 NITS is plenty ! My concern with RC controller is dropping the sticks they’re fiddly they’ll be easily lost in grass & possibly never seen again ? Fortunately one of my pals is detectorist !
Does anyone know if you can live stream to YouTube with the mini 3 and the DJi RC, in the DJi Go app you could set a link to live stream but I don’t see any options?
I had a large gull circling around my Mini 3, but at a reasonable distance. I dropped about 5 metres very quickly and the propeller noise seemed to scare it away.
Is there any chance there may be the FCC signal hack for the new MM3? Have Dji locked it completely for us in the UK? It ain’t as good as the trusty MM2 for signal, that’s for sure!
Ordered this on the 24th of May, it arrived today, I had to widen the outer gaps inwards around 2 mil on each side with my dremel, and it fits like a glove now
Fairly impressed with this semi-rigid shell that was under £10 off Aliexpress, not got the extra batteries to fill it but there’s space for 2 more spares under the controller and an ipad just squeaks in to the pocket
Its handy no matter the weight for me on my mobility scooter been able to just drop the controller if i need to, also saves trying to balance it whilst reaching to pick up the drone, otherwise I wouldn’t need one with this controller as it’s so light
