DJI Mini 3 Pro - Rumours, leaks, gossip and general discussion, reviews

Did the compass work? Looks like that error has come back again… My Tx Pro won’t calibrate also. Soon as you hit calibrate it shows successful and you haven’t done anything. I have updated but not flown yet. I am not hopeful. Just read a feedback on another source. Apparently the compass will only calibrate when it detects inaccuracy… And the signal is greatly improved with the controller pointing to the sky and your back to it! The compass does appear 180 degrees out on vids I have seen.

Just a warning to anyone looking to purchase batteries on ebay - several of the items are marked as extended batteries or as plus - but in fact they are not.

Sadly there doesn’t seem to be a way of reporting such false advertising.

Found if you start the controller in proximity to a magnet for interference, it will then calibrate in the settings tab. Not able to test fly at moment.

Have any of you guys (& Girls) who did the FCC hack with “Sincoder”, had it applied again after the very latest firmware update on the 3? Is it working ok?

I held off all firmware updates until know as I had a feeling there would be a few in quick succession, and I know once upgraded I will lose the FCC mod.

Thanks all

Can anyone tell me please where sideways switch in setting as it’s disappeared after I allowed it for a sideways shoot but I can not find it now as i want to put it back on for safety of no side sensors.

Hi @ziceman
Go into GoFly App

Three dots top right

Safety section - “disable sideways flight -toggle on/off

I have just had a very productive day up in the Derbyshire Peak district and have come to the conclusion that Drones make you Lazy!
I would have trugged miles, up and down hills looking for the magic shot

Today I realised them days are over, I just sent the drone and had one of my most productive days taking pics

Wonder when the next update will be in order to fix the compass

Hi I’m having problems with the IMU calibration it gets stuck at 98% even after doing all the rotations. Anyone know a work around.

Hi is anyone using these filters Freewell brightl day 6 pack from amazon and if so what do you think are these worth the money.

@Richard20D have a scroll up to here:

I had a similar problem, in my case I wasn’t following the picture on the app for alignment correctly.

I would double check.

Yeah, I use them. Seem like decent filters, got them for my 2S aswell. Never had any problems functionality wise, couldn’t tell you about any technical side to them as I’m not a pro piccy taker . Got them off Aliexpress, bright day pack, 6 ndcpl. The all day pack was 42 quid.

Thanks Rob but it’s not there anymore!! I enabled sideways flight toggle for a sideways shot and when I went back to activate it so I don’t accidentally fly sideways into something not there anymore. :worried:

Well in answer to that, I contacted technical re compass not working on RC Pro latest app 1.6.9. They replied by asking me to return the MM3 for evaluation by technicians. All postage attached to email. I did suggest was it not another update release issue… Awaiting reply before posting. Literally as I posted there is a new update for the controller to fix the compass!

Thats a weird one then ??!!
Have you tried updating the software ?
Can’t think of anything else, otherwise it is a call to DJI support :person_facepalming:t2::person_shrugging:

Ah yeah they told me the same thing so have you tried the update? I’m lucky that I don’t have the DJI RC

Forgive me if this has been covered already. I have done a search and can’t find this issue listed.
When I check my RC settings it tells me that Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are connected, which obviously allows me to connect to my iPhone and access the maps which in turns gives me the all important message re “home point updated “ etc etc

However as soon as I launch the bird it gives me a message stating that Wi-Fi and Bluetooth have been disconnected…….

Does anyone know the reason for this as is it not necessary to keep my phone connected somehow so that should I need to RTH it knows where I am.

Or am I missing a trick ??
Any responses would be appreciated.
Thanks
Rob

You don’t need Wi-Fi or Bluetooth to fly. The RC automatically disables them both but most folk leave the phone tethered while they do preflight checks and the maps of you locality will download and after that Wi-Fi and BT are not really required. Home point is stored in the drone.

Edit: I’m assuming you are using the DJI RC
