Aww nice one! So its not me going barmy! I checked and rechecked all my missions, flew them again with the mini2 ,but I couldnt find owt wrong with them. The aircraft would follow the flightpath as instructed, even turning as instructed towards the POI, but like you say, the gimble just decides to have its own ideas and face down for the rest of the mission. I did a bit of googling ,as you do,and found a few posts on Mavic Pilots where people had erratic gimble movements also, this was a couple of years ago, and using Litchi.
For now, what Ive ended up doing, is setting the gimble mode to manual, not the best situation, but at least I can still plot missions, and beggars cant be chosers! Ill keep an eye out for an updated SDK being released. Ive read that, the IOS version of Litchi is being released at the end of March, maybe there might be a difference with that,or it may just be ironed out when the full release, and not the Beta is available.
Thanks Stevie, for making a grown man feel that hes not actually loosing his marbles! Much appreciated.
Just had a message off Steviegeeks. He owns an Air 2s, and has the same problems, apparantly , a warning came up on his screen , stating there is a bug with the 2S, and DJI are onto it. Case solved, and confirms Im not going potty, well, not regarding this issue anyways!
Many thanks for the input, much appreciated . Hope I can return the favour one day.
Thats what Beta is about.
I think Iâll wait to re-try my mission/gimbal test until mention is made of an updated SDK from DJI
These are a couple of emails I received off Litchi after getting onto them about it
1.It is a bug in DJI firmware for air 2s. We need to wait for DJI to fix it, we do not know when they will fix it.
We will make some changes in Litchi in the meantime so you can use air 2s gimbal more effectively, update coming this week
2.
It should be in beta now. The gimbal UI indicator still will not work, for that we need to wait DJI to fix it - but flight modes where gimbal is involved should work for the most part.
So, basically Litchi have done what they can with the gimble, the ball is in DJI s court. Iâve just got the update ending 3996, will give it a try tonight.
Thanks for the update @Leylo1971 (and hi from Poolstock btw )
The guys and gals at Litchi donât hang around do they!
Iâm sure Litchi have reported bugs to DJI in the past and DJI havenât been very quick to respond Battery temperature bug springs to mind from the old Mavic Pro.
Ahh, Poolstock just around the corner, used to go the Cricketers on a Monday night many moons ago!
Anyway, yeah Iâm kinda new to the DJI situation, but I can only imagine itâs the same as usual, big firm has bigger fishes to fry, than sorting out a small bug that affects some other firms app.
Iâm going to try out the new update tonight, see what happensđ¤.
Iâll get back.
HaHa Nice one Wayne
Excellent work Waxne!
Post the you on the sticks version ;o)
Just bought my copy ⌠canât wait to try it out
After Dji update and Litchi update, the Air 2s gimble issue looks kind of sorted. Tested tonight on original mission, gimble never dropped like before. Did notice a bit of difference on a smaller mission that I ran first with mini 2,and the coordinates seemed to be off, it was supposed to follow a road, the mini 2 did, the 2s was around 8 m off, I did see something in the litchi update that mentioned about coordinatesâŚanyway, going to give it another go with a few more test flightsâŚthen itâs fun time!
Does anyone have problems using the website mission screen on Chrome? I have tried it both on a decent PC and chromebook but Iâm always told the page is not responding. Hovering over an option doesnât display the option title and clicking on MIssion hangs. I installed Firefox on my chromebook and it flies along. The site whinges itâs designed to work on a desktop, not mobile, but ignore that and I get instant response to everything.
Mine works in Chrome OK on PC. Works in Edge, Brave and Firefox, too.
Firefox is like garlic bread
Itâs the Future.
