Power on DJI Neo, then enable Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and location function on the S10. Tap Connection Guide on the bottom right corner of the DJI Fly app, select DJI Neo, then select Connect via Mobile Device, and then follow the on-screen instructions to complete connection.
Phone or drone ?
Drone had enough of it,
neo needs higher out put than 7
im not buying another phone
Bye all i stick ti fishingn dont need any app
for that
Having experienced this frustration myself, I know what the problems (and solutions) are.
First up once you get the app you need to install it. On ipad it’s nice and easy, just grab it from the app store.
But on android you need to find and download the correct .apk and install that. The latter being an total PITA if your phone or you struggles with installing .apk’s.
Secondly, when you first activate the Neo you need a phone/tablet with both mobile data AND Wifi turned on. That’s because the neo is using the Wifi, but the app needs to connect to something/somewhere online. Plus you need Bluetooth, and location services on as well.
The second problem is it appears that the Neo needs 5GHz wifi to make the initial activation, 2.4GHz won’t cut it. Nor can you easily change to 2.4GHz just using the app, but you can if you have the controller.
These problems usually happen when your mobile or tablet (like mine) isn’t that new. The solution is to buy/borrow a newish phone to do the setup, then after activating the neo you can use a device without mobile data.
Like personally I used a samsung galaxy S24 to activate, but I fly it using an ipad.
@stikflote did you take it back or did you give it another go

Sorry i cant get [picture up on screen
now i do have a Samsung S24 ULTRA but i dont want use it on controller
looking on Dji support my samsung S10 version 12 is not good enough they say 15 or above for neo
It was mentioned above ( mrsparky ?) you can possibly use your newer phone s24 ultra ? To do the initial setup) registration and THEN use your older phone to fly. You would probably ? Still need to update with the newer phone ( not sure on that one but SOMEONE here will be able to advise on that)
Basically it’s up to whether you want to take that advise, or not
Or get some goggles, it’s what it’s really made for.
Still need the new phone though to get it all set up
I use the old samsung note 10 and that works a treat i have an S8 in the bottom of a draw that i was planning to purpose for drones. Ill try that and post results.
@milkmanchris i got my first ever set of goggles with the Avata 2. Never want to fly without them again. I know non drone lovers look at me like a pillock but the ones who take the time to ask questions and look through them always say where can i get some of them.
Tve been trying every thing i read on here drom members at the moment i
nothing has worked, i really cant afford a new phone
A cheaper option, than a new phone, might be the DJI RC 2 controller.
Even new these are only (yes - I know - “only”) £320
Or - keep an eye out on our For Sale & Wanted section for someone selling one. They do appear from time-to-time.
Also - I’ll tag group-eastmidlands in case another member in your area can, hopefully, meet up with you and help you get something working.
Have you tried the newer phone at all?
Ive Not tried the s24 i wouldnt know what im doing try to use one then transfer to another ’
As long as its got the fky apo on and logged j ti into same account it makes no odds.
Myself and many swap between phones and tablets willy nilly
I work near Matlock, if you want to meet one evening between derby & matlock, between 1630hrs & 1730hrs, I’ll assist you, if I can
