Hehe,
Litchi would be a selling point for me.
I guess a better transmission signal too

Provided it worked with the drone, it should be fine.
I have the older version and could load anything on it.
However, you canāt run the Google Play Store. But alternatives exist.
I guess force loading from the apk?
The good news is that the Litchi Pilot apk loads and runs OK. The bad news is that no loaded app will handle video from the drone. This apparently needs Google Services, which are blacklisted on the RC Pro 2.
OK a question which I feel should be answered in a manual somewhere, but I canāt find it: can the RC Pro 2 be set up for use with two different drones (but not used at the same time, obviously)? Iām currently using the RC Pro 2 with a Mini 4, but will be getting a Mini 5 and would really want to be able to use the controller with either drone.
Yes
It can from what iāve read but there might be some manner of shenanigan about 5 flights and binding??
Similar to the switching of controller/googles between an avata 2 and a mini 4.
Iām actually curious as to the exact details myself.
Thanks for the reference. That was the manual I checked. It says that one drone canāt be linked to two controllers. My question was the other way round - linking one controller to two drones.
Itās a yes, whatever drone you last used itās set for that until you switch on another drone and basically same first setup to bind after that you turn on controller same scenario which ever was last drone it be ready for that one but if itās the other just hit connection guide pick the other drone it ask you to confirm and literally seconds to switch over and connect, you can add all your compatible drones like this to one controller.
Switching drones is a 5 second task
Anyone interested in seeing the RC Pro 2 in the flesh I will be using mine tomorrow at the Alexandra Park Meet Up.
I ordered mine on release day and donāt regret it one bit. In fact, Iāve not used my standard RC 2 controller since receiving the Pro 2 ![]()
If Nik @Nik469 joins us Iād be happy for him to pair/bind it to his Mini 5 Pro to give it a test driveā¦but be warned Nik, it will most definitely result in you spending money on one ![]()
Itās expensive, but YOLO ![]()
I had a message on my bound mini 4 pro RC 2 when I swapped to my unbound Air 3s stating I could only switch drones a number of times before having to bind it?
Since then, Iāve used the RC 2s that came with drones. ![]()
Yeah. Iāve had similar stuff when goggling with the mini 4.
Our esteemed colleagues here plus some semi random responses on the dji forum say you can āon the flyā connect, i think 5 times, ie flights/take offs before having to bind.
I was worried there are a limited number of bindings but apparently itās not the case so you āshouldā be good to go.
You are binding to your dji account.
That was my understanding but it can then be unbound and rebound without drawback?
Kinda the same as transfering ownership of the drone itself?
Appreciate that, but I had both drones registered to my account, and they show up on both controllers as such, but the message came up twice when I fired up the Air3s to use with the mini 4 Proās RC. It worked no problem but the message reduced the number of times I could swap this way saying I would have to bind the drone to the RC once these are depleted?
I will eventually get the RC 2 Pro and use it exclusively for both drones, except when I take the mini abroad or on hikes.
Just started fiddlings.
Given the storm i couldnt fly much so i was messing with apps.
As we know. It really doesnt like google anything. None of the apps or play services etc.
Lightcut has to be installed manually. Not a big issue.
Firefox is firefox but edge and copilot apps run without flaw so far and through edge the web based versions of gmail, youtube etc seem to work fine.
Litchi installs but doesnt detect a mini 5, no apk released yet. My 4 seems to need an update before fly will detect it but should work with litchi after that.
Airdata is all good.
Not tried drone scene or drone assist yet. I still find drone assist useful.
Livestreaming via twitch and youtube work fine once setup issues are dealt with.
Charging times seen alot less than specs suggest using a 65w fag lighter charger.
More ramblings tomorrow ![]()
If you get Litchi to display video from the drone, please let me know how you did it.
Ill get into it over the next couple of days.
I just have a hang up about updating from firmware thats been perfectly stable for ages ![]()
