I will try that might try flying at flying club tomorrow see if I get same problem again.
I would do a factory reset like this just incase it has glitched

So, had a weekend up north with both the mini2 and the M2P but just the smart controller. Thoughts and feedback are:
1 - So, so, so nice not to need to carry two controllers about, and not to have to faff with connecting the phone to the controller for the Mini2.
2 - Occasional issue with the Mini2 where the image on the screen from the camera would just be solid, primary blue (overlaid with the controls and menus, etc). Hit the photo button and it takes the photo then goes back to the expected live view from the camera rather the blue.
3 - Switching between the Mini2 and M2P isnât the most reliable. Switching to the M2P from the mini was okay, but more than 50% of the attempts to switch back to the mini failed and I had to re-pair it four or five times.
4 - Anybody figured out the button combo on the smart controller to smoothly scroll the zoom with the shoulder-wheel?
Right hand side scroll wheel.
You must be a bit rough with the wheel as when I use mine it is smooth as silk.
Honest to God, I mustâve stood for five minutes trying to figure out different button combos with the left wheel to make it zoom and I seem to not have tried the right wheel at all. 
The left is for gimbal tilt and right for zoom.

Youâd think Iâd remember from having an actual Mavic 2 Zoom⌠for some reason it was stuck in my head that the mini 2 controller is the left wheel so thatâs the only one I bothered with. As you say, live and learn. 
Have you updated the Fly app on the SC to v1.4.4 @JoeC ?
I ask, because I think the recently launched SC firmware (v01.01.0058) ships with Fly v1.4.2

Scratch that, I was able to replicate by switching the SC to the Air2S, then back to the Mini 2 and also had to try a few times to re-pair it

I had not, no. Was in the land of patchy broadband and hadnât spotted the update. Installing now - might not fix the switching thing, but more stable is more stable. Thanks 
Does anybody know how pair mavic zoom and mini 2 to smart controller I have them paired but when I select mavic mini it wants me to re pair it again all I want to be able to do is switch over between both drone instead of pairing pressing sink button mini and zoom are showing up in aircraft management when I click on mini just timeâs out your help would be appreciate.
From using mine over the last few days I seems that every time you switch to another drone you need to re pair the drone
Ok thanks needs a software update then hopefully DJI will sort it out.
What I have noticed it is ok connecting to zoom or pro itâs just when you what to connect to mini 2 that you have to re sink it.

Fixed which bugs? 
Would be nice if it was the bug that means you have to plan a week ahead if you want to switch between a Mini2 and Mavic2

The details in their release notes is utterly useless sometimes 
Thatâs the only issue I have with my smart controller - itâs not very smart at remembering more than one drone!
