All we are asking is that you submit your best drone photograph taken this year. It will grace the cover of the GADC Calendar for 2024. It must have been taken within the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland or the Crown Dependencies.
Format:
Portrait (vertical) in European A proportions - it will be reproduced at A4 size (297x210mm) - Its height-to-width aspect ratio is approximately the square root of 2 (1.414) to one. Don’t worry too much as we can crop before sending to the printers. A4 or larger size please at the best quality you can achieve
Copyright:
The winning picture will be used on a printed calendar - if we get enough orders to make it financially viable. By entering you are agreeing to allow us to use the picture for that purpose only with due accreditation, the copyright to the image will remain with you.
Details:
Post your picture in this thread. One picture per person only. It must have been taken since January 1st 2023. It can have been submitted before to GADC, either for general admiration or for one of the competitions that run throughout the year. Please do not add a signature to your image but do tell us the aircraft used, the location and the date the picture was taken. Add any further details that may be of interest.
Judging
The competition will close at 21:00 on Saturday, November 25th 2023. All entries will be entered into a poll which will be open to everyone. The poll will be via a single vote, the image with the most votes at 21:00 on Monday, November 27th 2023 will be selected for the calendar cover. In case of two or more photos tying for first place the Challenges Committee will use their accumulated years of skill and judgment to select one picture from the winning images.
We don’t disagree. Vertical videos taken by mobile phone are exceedingly annoying. But, to avoid half the cover being white space, we need your best picture cropped to the proportions detailed above
