Ah ok I overlooked that. Yeah ok I will give it ago I did also bare that in mind but just thought I’d check with you guys to see if I got the same answer again. You can never be too sure with this stuff lol
Yeah that stick tension looks good
Hope your first flight goes well ![]()
Thanks mate, I will be taking her out for a spin after some lunch. Can’t thank you all enough for all your time and help. Would definitely not be at this stage this quick without you all.
Cheers
Hi guys, so i took it out for first flight but it was rather short lived as it started up ok but when i put the throttle up it wouldnt lift off the ground. It just picked up speed but then it seemed again like once i had throttled i couldnt bring it back down speed by pulling back for some reason either. It was just strange how as far as i pushed up the throttle it wasnt lifting. The back did look slightly like i wasnted too. Couldno have done my props wrong? I watch bardwells vid on that i felt id sone it correct.
I must confess though i didnt check on liftoff what it was like lol.
Perhaps I’ll try that in a little while.
Probably props on the wrong way. Have you got any photos of the props on the motors?
Yes i will upload them shortly so you can take a look.
Just out on the electric scooter at the moment enjoying whats left of the sun for abit. Be back soon
I have taken some pictures below to show how my props are set as I couldn’t get liftoff from the ground for some reason when I tried my first flight.
These are the props out on the table, can you tell me which ones should go where?
They are set to props in which in the manual is what it should be set to. When you guys were setting it up yesterday did you do anything to change motor direction at all?
Quick question, when you were trying to take off earlier did you have screws in your props holding them tight to the motors?
Ah no I didn’t was I supposed to put screws in?
It doesn’t mention the props in the manual I don’t believe
We messed around alot for hours but we got it to work and hoped it would today but perhaps I need to go back into betaflight?
It does mention the props in the instructions but as usual I find it hard to understand still from that. I felt I did It correct the first time as I had the leading edges going inwards and the same props on opposite sides was that right?
Also I admit I did not screw them on. Would that have been the issue?
For that type of prop you need to have 2 screws to stop the prop from rotating on top of the motor like below

those look correct for a props in configuration.
will depend if the friction fit of the motor shaft was tight enough. if the motor shaft is spinning inside the hub of the prop its going to have a really hard time getting any lift.
I hate T-mount props! lol give me a prop nut anyday! ![]()
Ive not used that T Mount type of prop myself Deano. Do they clip on aswell? Or will they just fall off the shaft inflight without screws holding them on?
I looked and set my props up to how that picture you showed me there looked and I will put some screws in and try again.
it depends on how tight the friction fit is on the motor shaft.
I’ve flown my Tinyhawk hawk without screws in the props with no issue but thats a tiny 2.5 inch prop lol
I’d never fly my 5" pod racer without screws in the props because its to powerful.
you might want to look at setting up your end points. bardwell has a video on that as well. just to make sure you’re getting the full throw of the sticks.
