Yeah pop some screws in the props and try again, its almost certainly because the props are spinning on top of the motors and not getting enough lift

Ok I’ll see how it goes. They do feel very tight on there takes some jummying to get them on fully

As you know, it’s often hard to tell which way your motors are spinning on the bench. BF is configured for props in, and I think it seemed that’s the way the motors were spinning. Always worth checking absolutely everything, of course. Just because one was going the right way doesn’t mean they all were.

Its hard enough to tell which way they are going when sat right next to them let alone through a PC screen

Yes I totally agree! I just tried again with screws in and it seemed like it had abit more thrust then before but still once I had throttled up it seemed like it was just getting farther and faster but no liftoff and even when I pulled back it didn’t slow down as I would expect it should.

Does this sound like another delve into betaflight?

Yes it is not easy is it.

Or perhaps it’s the tension in my gimbals?

What battery pack are you using on the quad?

A large heavy 18650 but it was bought as a package or was recommended with the quad so assuming that shouldn’t be the issues, I’ve also seen lots of vids with the same battery on.

Is it fully charged up?

It’s brand new. Do they come fully charged? I assumed they did. I can try charging and see what the meter reads

They wont be sent fully charged up for safety/storage reasons. Give it a full charge and see how that goes👍🏻

Ah right ok hopefully that will change things then. I’ll plug them up and see

This will be my first time charging batteries so is there anything I need to know here? I have heard fires can be likely? What causes that?

I dont use Li ion packs at all so I will leave it to one of the other guys to explain the differences in charging and yes fires can start while charging but thats normally because people have damaged their battery and or charge at to high a rate. Also always stay with your batteries while charging and monitor them

Ok I have put it on, this it what it shows shoes this look ok

Is this ok? Or is it set to high? I have no clue what any of this means here

Lipo batteries need charging to 4.2V per cell but as I say Im not sure about Li ion batteries. @group-fpv Im sure one of these guys will be able to give advice on Li ion charging. I wouldnt start charging it until youve had confirmation as charging batteries at the wrong rate or to the wrong voltage can damage the cells or even worse cause a fire

Ok I have switched it off for now until someone gets back to me. I did change the setting to what I think is a lower charge rate as the picture shows below as the figure now sits around 1.03a as opposed to 1.75a

I’m assuming a means amps?

Li-ions are 4.15v. 1c charging is usually fine :+1:
