I’ve actually been thinking about getting another one mate.
Might get your advice on it at some point.

We can talk printers at the weekend
Over beverages
Yes, I’ll definitely show off my prints. I’m making 3D models from drone footage (photogrammetry) and I’ve a few models already created and ready to print. I’m seriously thinking of building a business from this but I want a decent portfolio when I launch. I’ve already bought my domain and have a Wordpress site started.
Today Bambu Labs announced a summer sale with £70 off the price I paid. The good news is they are honouring the price to anyone who bought a printer after 20th May so I’m due a refund which I think will come in the form of store credit. The A1 mini is now an incredible £169 when the sale starts.
That’s why I went for the A1 Mini. They pride themselves on ease of use, it’s as close to plug and play as I’ve seen. I’m reading nothing but great things about the company and it’s printers. I certainly don’t want to spend my time tinkering like I have in the past.
… go on — you know you need one
Don’t tempt me man.
I’ve avoided the temptation for all these years, but when I see what the current Bambu owners are sharing here…
If - and its a very big if - I were to get one I reckon it would be one of the Bambu offerings
Got too much on with the Shogun and the Land Cruiser at the moment …
@PingSpike the money you can save though…
for example:
Eckla Cam Disk Ground Pod For Low Level Photography
£166
My 3D printed version:
factoring in the filament cost and engery consumption plus the Bolt for the thread.
Less than £5
Measuring return on investments? I like your style!
Brb, just going to add up the cost of everything I could print
Adding up the cost of my Anet A8 (bought for my 50th) @ £129 and my Anycubic Mono M1 @ £239 and now my Bambu Labs A1 Mini @ £379 inc postage, I’m now down £747 plus electric and materials :o
I designed and print a housing for a 3D Bluetooth printer which was totally bespoke. So bespoke, I ended up buying a housing from China a few months ago lol because it was better and cheap enough. On the other hand, I once threw out a perfectly good cooker because the knobs had broken and the manufacturer want £30 a knob (I needed 5 knobs). A 3D printer would have done the job for pennies.
@DeanoG60, was that printed on a Bambu Lab machine?
But you can’t without a printer
No, it was printed on an Ender 7
Loads of mates with them though ;o)
Is that a 3D Printed lens? That’ll save you a few bob.
I wish
The fan duct for my hot end the screw lugs broke. New ducts are out of stock.
Went on sovols github page and managed to find an STL for it.
Back to getting PETG dialed in…
Our lass has ordered me a 2nd AMS for my X1C for my birthday on Sunday, bargain
