Welcome to the forum @roycruse. I’m sure one of the admin team will be along soon to welcome you to the forum.
Like you many of the FPV Pilots have migrated from camera drones to fpv quads and quite a few have gone to fixed wings too.

Hi Roy @roycruse and welcome to GADC
" Hi, where do the Fixed Wing FPV guys hang out in this forum ?"
In trees, retrieving wings, from what I’ve seen posted.
Welcome, though.
Not aware of trees for the planes. Oh yeah once with Stevie.
Welcome Roy. Plenty of us fixed wing guys here with more being converted.
Where you based?
Cornwall
Hi Roy
I am a relatively new memmber and have been out to a northwest drone meet up and there was a guy there with a FPV wing
Cheers Dave
Or they fly away never to be seen again…
Welcome @roycruse I had an AR wing PRO, and I’ve still got a mobula delta wing (yet to maiden )
There’s a few of us with wings here.
Hi Roy,
I used to just fly fpv drones, but maiden’d my first plane today.
Phil
Hi Deano when you say “HAD” an ar wing pro… what happened to it. Thats what i have - its had a very sketchy maiden where I lost it in the fog (thank got return to launch worked). Im waiting for my goggles to be replaced before i can fly it again
Sore subject…
Completely my fault, had not flown in a while, I used auto launch with return to launch as the after mode and it worked flawlessly. Put my goggles on to take over and had a brain fart and hit my disarm switch instead of my return to launch switch off it went never to be seen again…
Hmmm…
When / how did you get yours @roycruse ?
purchased mine from hobby rc first week in jan
Sorry Roy, was only joking
what flight controller firmware do you use…
Im using ardupilot and
oh… i get it now DOH!!! i feel stupid now
was iNav on the speedybee F405wing flight controller
Rude. Lol. Was me
I didn’t mention it, as well… Still hate that day!
Ummmm, how you disarm in emergency and that makes point 2 moot surely?
Must make my video but I did have a arm disarm session in January and yeah re armed with iNav 6.1 and also landed fine disarmed. Need to watch the VTX is full power always (which you can on all but O3 I think). Still RTH is always a good thing?
I have previous mutirotor experience with ardupilot so opted to stick with that for my AR Wing Pro but have been wondering if i made the right decision or not - INAV looks so much more modern and ardupilot so bloody complicated.
anyway my plane came back after i lost it in low cloud (couldnt see the ground from the plane or the plane from the ground and i was panicking and my goggles were fogging up as it was so humid - i had no clue how badly out of tune the plane was or if any of the auto modes worked.
i was so happy when i sptted it in the coud flying over head and just line of sight landed it before it got out of sight again. had 7 minutes of pure panic - not the relaxing experience i had in my head from watching lots of youtube fpv wing videos.
