Interesting NOTAMs / Flight Reports / temporary flight restriction zones

I have seen readers drone photos of this ship obviously taken within the NFZ this week in the local papers…

The ship arrived early and some took the advantage of grabbing some footage before the restriction times kicked in.

Always one.

Yep, just come across this story too.

I’ve moved your posts over here where it has already been reported

From a YouTube video I watched, you didn’t miss much as the public were only allowed in the hanger. I feel I was blessed with my visit to Elizabeth and being able to be on the flight deck and bridge etc.

Just took this with my Nikon from the Woodside Ferry Terminal in Birkenhead.

Notice the people walking on the ski jump, it was very windy on Sunday.

It was The Prince of Wales not the Elizabeth

What lens did you use for that?

Nikon 70-200 f2.8 on a NIKON D500, the actual focal length was 122mm = 183mm (Cropped Sensor) 1/400s f7.1

They would have been either invited guest, VIP’s or family members of crew…

I enjoyed walking up the jump of Elizabeth myself when I visited her in Portsmouth. PoW was moored behind her..

I get what you’re saying but it was incredibly windy at dock level, let alonr on the jump.

People were lucky to get on board on Sunday. Sat night saw it being pushed back onto the cruise terminal with tugs. They had concerns about the mooring lines and even dropped anchors.

Cracking lens that.

I wonder if they did actually arrest anyone or was it just a frightener to dissuade people ?

A temporary FRZ has been put in place for tomorrow’s League Cup Final at Hampden Park Stadium in Glasgow between Celtic & Rangers. Though looking at the weather forecast I doubt they’ll need it, 40+mph wind & rain!

I’ve just seen Burgfield AWE have a temporary NOTAM in place widening what all ready has a Restricted Area: EGR104 BURGHFIELD, my first thoughts was the likely hood of MOD

… yeah right because the bad guys are now going to keep away even more than they were before…

making bigger circles around these sites does it just not make them more obvious to a foreign nation or a terrorist…

would have been better in my opinion to just employ drone countermeasures… but what do I know… simples … you fly over these sites you loose your drone by whatever means nessesary to bring it down, if we find you then we will use all that other legislation (that we cannot use as we don’t know who is presently overflying the us air bases (or Gatwick) to bring you to court and charge you with espionage…

deploy some of those new 10p a shot anti drone devices that the army have apparently developed (don’t think the development or whole life cycle cost was factored into the 10p a shot though creative accounting…)

sometimes you have just got to wonder how much the Russians or Chinese etc must just laugh … whilst I am not an advocate of shoot first ask questions later… with a uav (clue in the abbreviation)… who or what is going to be harmed to just bring it down… if it’s your drone then you won’t do it again and if you do pipe up you’ll be charged… done!

that balloon the floated all the way across the us before being shot down made a mockery of a first world nation and all of its air defences and biden + military was seen as very weak over the fiasco, until they finally shot it down

Maybe they do, who knows?
