Interesting NOTAMs / Flight Reports / temporary flight restriction zones

It looks like you are.

Well, as long as you realise the time stated is UTC, so 16:30 BST.

We’re going way off topic here, but this one was pure genius

Anyway, back to the NOTAMs.

A thought on this NFZ. So within that area is “Go Skydive” a company that run parachute jumps. They are still very much still operating during this period. Are they somehow exempt?

Tonight’s Blackpool lights switch on.

And crawling with armed police.

Armed police for some lights getting switched on? What a f**king world we live in :frowning:

Estimated crowd 24,000+, ripe as a terrorist target considering recent(ish) events at Manchester & Southport. It was the same for the air display, ruddy great security barriers fixed on prom (and rumoured to stay in place). Manned by Security guards & police armed with automatic weapons.

I wouldn’t care but the modern lights are crap, not a patch on the old stuff.

I know that , as @Seadog Phil says not a patch on what they used to be.

Now billed as a ‘festival of light’ until January

You cannot polish a turd

It’s all cheap Disney look alike crystal chandaliers (ok plastic), no themes as it used to be apart from the tableau’s up North twds Red Bank Rd, and they’ve not been changed in years. Rest is pretty boring.

Hasn’t stopped my local ‘Poundland’ putting out xmas decorations for sale!

Most I could zoom out on this before the layer disappears off the map. This thing is frickin’ huge!

Doesn’t look like it will affect us (unless I’ve got my frequencies all wrong), thankfully.

Dirty trick / bug / hack / call it what you will

Zoom in to an area like normal:

Then simply hit the refresh button on the browser.

It’ll reload the map, zoomed out, but it won’t reload the layer

Agreed

Thus must depend on os/browser .. because a refresh for me clears everything.

Possibly, only tried it on Safari and Chrome on macOS, not delved any deeper.

Should probably fix it really
