Lost my drone in the drink!

@Doginabag is the controller connected to the internet mate ?

Actually I’m not sure if that’ll make a difference tbh.

There’s always the chance of nice shiny Air 3 to be won for just £1.99 … ummm … once you become a Member.

Well this is turning into a ball ache.

On my RC my drone is not listed under device management, so I cannot complete the flyaway report. So waiting to hear back what other hoops I have to jump through.

Also quoted £219 as the replacement. Obviously still much better than having to fork out for a new one but still I w saw that the care refresh excess was £62.

Did you never bind it to your account? :scream:

And that means RC is not bound to the care-refresh :scream:

That is for accidental damage

I also hit a DJI zone this morning.

Was unaware that it was there.

I was aware of the risk area, but not that DJI had banned drones from there 24/7

Was this my mistake or not?

Keen to learn if it was.

Fortunately I was able to back out of it just fine.

Thats not a DJI geo zone

From DS

The blue shape is however on the screenshot from drone scene.

Little blue bit is an ‘authorisation zone’, so yeah more made up shit from DJI

It wasn’t mine :grinning:

No option to accept this in flight - just had a message to leave asap etc.

Think I might need to keep the DJI layer on in DS.

Nothing at all shows in the Drone assist app for this BTW

Inferior product

indeed - just highlighting that it isn’t on there.

Turns out the DJI FLY app needed updating, then it shows. Fly away report still isn’t showing up at their end though apparently. Will get sorted but not as straight forward as it should be.

Somebody must be requesting DJI to place AZ’s on their maps?

Rogiett Small arms range. MoD site. Just around the corner from me.

Maybe an idea from a safety point of view to pre-request authorisation for all the DJI blue zones within a miles or 2 of your planned flight area and download to the aircraft ahead of time just in case.

Even if you aren’t planning on flying in them at least it should stop the invisible wall with no clear warnings.

Not always, i think a lot of automated such as looking for stadium, tourist areas etc.
I know a few DJI AZs that appeared for things that have actually been demolished so suspecting also map data too.

If you could request one randomly the entire map would be a farce of blocking zones like the “no fly drones” con site where anyone can and does request and it pretends to be official.

Perhaps another reason for keeping Atti mode bound to Cine on the mode switch. Atti mode disables GPS positioning, so would assume this would allow the drone to pass through DJI Authorisation Zones. I’ll test this and report back.
