Lost my drone in the drink!

Nah, little smoke. There is a 1KM DJI AZ over the Swindon Country Ground and cricket club. I’ve flown there a few times using the unlock. I’ll TOAL just to the SW of the zone in Spring Gardens, then switch to atti and try to head NE over the AZ.

Unfortunately I don’t think that is going to do I it. I was wondering if there could be a way to permanently unlock all geo zones and accept responsibility, but it seems not.

Don´t forget: even if GPS and Glonass don’t stabilise the drone, they are activated in the background to ensure that you don´t fly into prohibitive zones or that in emergency cases (for example, if the connection is lost) the drone will return to the Homepoint, which usually is the starting position.

Depending on your DJI model and apps used, there are ways to delete the entire Flysafe database from both the drone and the app.

It will or it won’t. May as well test as it will only take me a few minutes.

I’ll use my Mini 3 Pro which only has the FCC hack on it. DJI AZ are still on there.

If it does work, I’ll have a nice tail wind too

Unfortunately it doesn’t work like that.
ATTI disables GPS stabilisation but not geo-fencing. It just means you can fly unstabilised outside banned areas. It still receives and uses GPS for permitted areas.

Fly away claim put in on the Friday and a replacement received today (Tuesday) with a bank holiday in between. Can’t moan at that service!

Now don’t go near HMS President again! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Great news!

Glad you’re up and running again @Doginabag

Great service from DJI - Crashed mine late on a Monday night, contacted DJI on the Tuesday morning, new drone arrived on the Thursday morning, saved my holiday to Orkney

Yes I think I will give it a while before I go there again!

Well, it was worth a try. Atti mode does not bypass DJI Authorisation Zones.

Mini 3 Pro yesterday after work, flying in Atti mode towards the start of the County Ground’s DJI AZ …

Just before I reached the edge of the AZ, it warned me …

As soon as I reached the edge of the AZ, geo-fencing slammed my brakes on and a 99 second timer was initiated before a forced landing kicked in …

With the latest Sincoder hack, there is an option to turn gps_off. May have a play with that next time I am out in the countryside.

So this is what I basically experienced then at Tower Hill when I got too close to HMS President - and I mentioned my RTH requests were twice cancelled out?

Can only think crowds, then i saw Swindon :joy:

Perhaps you weren’t flying at it fast enough?

Now that some time has passed and I have had a chance to have a good think about everything that contributed to this incident, and also having heard others have had similar incidents in the same location, I have put a little video together.

I hope that maybe it will help someone else avoid making the same mistakes. In reality I don’t have the reach for many people to see it,even if it is useful (I’m still now so sure).

But it was a good exercise in presenting something which I have never done before, and not sure I want to do it again. Public speaking is not for me, even if it isn’t actually face to face!
