Apart from a couple of £15 quads a few years ago the M2P was my first proper piece of kit, it was far beyond how easy I expected it to be to use and all my worries were gone in seconds of my first flight
To be honest @Philw, you will not go wrong with a M2P/Z,
just be sensible on where you fly, give yourself plenty of space ( from looking at the map, you got plenty of that!) practice basic manoeuvres first and get use to how it flies.
You will be surprised how responsive it is.
As others have said, get use to flying it, then after a little while have a go at a bit of video and photography.
You’ll bloody love it !.
Ok, I have just ordered a Mavic 2 pro with smart controller and fly more bundle which will arrive tomorrow, can’t wait.
Just get on Youtube and watch as many videos you can between now and when it arrives, then…
study the manual…
then…
Fly the arse off it !!
CAREFULLY !!!
The feeling for the next 24 hours is…
“Like and 8 year old waiting for Santa to arrive”
Chris , you are assuming he is not a circus performer.
if he works whilst wearing a red nose, he may have room for an mp2 as well as custard pies and balloons in his suit pocket.
Great advice other than this faux pas.
Hi Chris,
I am another one on the hump. At kings lynn. Where are you based?
Phil
Look out for the new Freewell variable ND filters. Theyve not totally landed here in the UK yet or at least are difficult to come by as theyre getting good reviews. See YT for those.
Heres one: https://youtu.be/Y2Abhygb-Ks
Its a pack of 2 variable filters that I believe aill retail around £60.
They start off ND2-ND32 on 1 filter and ND64-ND512 on the other. Id find the first lense incredibly useful for everyday use. Just saves a teeny bit of faff.
Also, the M2P was my first drone and i love the thing. My use has been made more pleasurable with the Smart Controller.
from me.
PS I agree wholeheartedly with advice given re filters.
Get the flying done first and ramp up the excitement and enjoyment!!
Learning the camera settings re video and photos are whole other fabulous thing!!
Yeah rocking horse shite is easier to get
@ianinlondon did a good review on them too
Just on the outskirts of Norwich
Deffo the better YT review!
I have ordered a set of these they should be here in a couple of weeks, the drone has landed and the batteries are on charge.
Congrats
Nice one, take your time and don’t rush, like been said YT is a great place for info along with GADC
Happy droning
Aah ha!! Get in.

What he said . YT, is brilliant. @ianinlondon has some fabulous YT vids. One of which is posted further up in this post. A perfect place to start.
Thank guys, I think I have done everything (i think)bar fly it, firmware updated with all three batteries, IMU and compass calibrated set to beginer mode obstacal avoidance on etc, It’s absolutely pouring down here and we have a storm coming in tonight from the North sea, Storm Garreth I do belive, hopefully I’ll get a window to fly tomorrow.
Hey @Philw Feeling sorry for you man! What a crappo weekend of weather to get your first drone.
Apols for the self promotion here, but I made this vid precisely for someone like you, starting out with a M2 Pro. So while it’s raining, have a watch and wait for the good weather. Then find somewhere far away from people and have some fun.
Cheers fella
Ian.
Thanks Ian,
It does rain a lot here, just unfortunate this weekend we have a storm plus the fact I have been faffing on which to buy for so long, I started looking at the Spark back in March and have slowly talked my self up to the pro 2, anyway, I have already watched a couple of your videos which are excellent by the way, thankyou for taking the time to make them, I need to find the one about adjusting the yaw and camera again which I stumbled across the other day.
Thanks again!
