After setting up theM2P yesterday I did a bit of jumping the gun on Friday and downloaded the DJI GO app on my phone befrore the drone arrived, I’m thinking I don’t actually need it do I, as I have a smart controller?
@Philw Thanks Phil
Yep, I’m up in rural north Essex and am sharing your precipitational despair this weekend
The gimbal, pitch and yaw settings video you mentioned is Smooth Camera Settings and probably the one you’re after. It really does smooth things out. Link below.
And it’s fine to have the Go4 app on your phone too. Sometimes you may have to use the remote and phone instead of the Smart Controller. Either way, not an issue to have installed it in phone.
The Mavic 2 will handle wind really well, so if it stops raining and the anticipation is proving too much, you can still head out to a field and have a low level play. Wind up to around 25mph is actually fine for it. It will just warn you about a collision sensor error which is actually it trying to tell you it’s flying too steep for the collision avoidance sensors to work. But it’s not actually an issue to stop you flying.
Anyway, here’s the settings vid.
Cheers
Ian.
haven’t read all the posts here just a few about powerlines.
I had a close call earlier in the year,wasn’t concentrating when I took off, did checks then took it up to 30 feet,then,while talking to someone, instead of going vertical went horizontal until I realised was in the middle of a set of big powerlines!
luckily didn’t effect flight, had a look around to make sure direction to fly out and did, very lucky, lesson learnt!!!
This one made me have a bottom clencher moment about 18 months back, flying diagonally backwards I saw the powerlines and thought I was closer than I might have been.
All I was thinking is don’t fall into the Severn.
A quick spin around and I realised I had flown over the top of them but was clear, it wasn’t funny at the time
