This is a location recommended by @grandad1950.
There isn't much there apart from a space to fly that is shared by dog walkers, local residents and families. There's a wee pond, some allotments and some small trees to fly around. There's also a kids' play area that would be best avoided.
So this is likely to be a typical small meetup, some flying, some banter, all abilities welcome. Bring your own refreshments and camping chairs, there are some benches scattered around the area. No toilets that I'm aware of.
At time of posting, Sunday 17th August, Airdata's OKtoFly shows Thursday as the best weather for flying. THIS MAY CHANGE. Watch out for late-breaking information.
Meet in the car park (2.1 metre height barrier) at the end of Yarrow Road, on-street parking nearby for overheight vehicles
Not a fan of Harley-Fergusons. Too big, too heavy, too slow. Give me a nice, well-built Triton any day Enjoy the museum.
I’m sorting out a risk assessment for a flight in an FRZ (yawn) but once it’s done it should work for every time I’m asked for one - and cover me when I’m claiming Article 16 concessions
It’s Goodwood being a PITA. I simply filled out a simple form on the Goodwood website several years ago, got a quick email reply, phoned in on the morning of flying and phoned when I finished. All very civilised and friendly.
Last night I spent a long time looking for that form on the shiny, revamped website, searched for “drones” and got nothing. (OK, some of the time was spent in pricing up the various Spitfire flights I could take from just under £4000)
E mailed them and got a curt use the Altitude Angel form on the site. Took an awful lot of searching as it doesn’t appear on the site menu anywhere.
AA wants know to all kinds of things about your aircraft including the controller serial number! And they want files uploaded: Flyer id - no problem, Insurance - downloaded the club certificate and risk assessment.
They are getting a modified version of a Rotherham Council drone RA pulled off the net.
It’s like old times, I used to do this for intstalling ticket machines on railway property
