Membership is nearly due for renewal / expiry

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I can’t find anything. My membership is due in a week or so. Will I get a reminder? When it is due, I want to include liability insurance. I can see how to do that, but want to ensure I do it on the due date - and not forget…

I got a reminder the other day to say it will renew automatically, I’m guessing as long as your card details are up to date then my thinking would be the same for yourself .
Edit : I just checked & I was reminded a week ago tomorrow which says it renews tomorrow, if you go on drone scene under your membership it should tell you the date at the top for renewal.

As Rich @Kirky confirmed, you’ll get a reminder email around a week before your Membership is due to expire.

There is understandably some confusion around renewals for our first generation of members - that’s both of you, and a whole bunch of other people too :blush:

If you became a Member between 1st Feb and 28th July 2023, your membership will not automatically renew. This is due to the changes we made to membership on 29th July 2023.

If you became a Member, or an Insured Member, on or after 29th July 2023 then your membership will automatically renew - unless cancelled in advance.

For those of you who’s Membership is going to expire between 1st February 2024 and 28th July 2024, your options are:

  1. Click the “Renew Now” button at https://dronescene.co.uk/membership if you want to ensure a continued service

  2. Wait until your membership actually expires, then take out a new Membership or a new Insured Membership

  3. Upgrade to Insured Membership
    – You can do this at any time
    – Don’t forget, if you have insurance from another provider you can cancel that and gain extended GADC insurance for free (details here)

  4. Do nothing, your membership will expire on the date quoted at https://dronescene.co.uk/membership

If you already have Public Liability Insurance from another provider you may be able to take advantage of our offer of up to 12 months FREE insurance! Sorry if the original wording was unclear, I’ve just made a quick change to it now to make it a little clearer. We will make some more changes next week to help make it even easier and even clearer.

I just checked your account Rich @Kirky and it says:

The back end admin processes that handle subscriptions runs in batches, so you might not actually expire until later than that.

Don’t worry though mate, nothing bad will happen :slight_smile:

Worst case scenario is you’ll lose access to some things for a few hours until you renew. The renewal process is instant, no delays, so don’t let it keep you awake all night :blush:

Sorry to put this up as a forum post Rich but my membership expired today so I can’t send DM’s

My membership is set to autorenewal, so can you please advise what the problem is?

I’ve had no notification of expired credit card etc.

I got an email about an hour ago saying mine had expired, paid the £25 and sorted within minutes following the link in the email

Diane @Osdog you might be getting notifications of every single reply to this topic :see_no_evil:

To stop this, scroll to the very bottom of this thread and change this “Watching” option to “Normal” instead :blush:

If your membership is due to expire within the next 30 days you’ll now have a “Renew Now” button available at https://dronescene.co.uk/membership which you can use if you don’t want to wait until your actual expiry date :slight_smile:

I’ve just renewed, got the insurance, and also ordered a membership card with all the bumf on… well done you lot… :slight_smile:
