@Blankers Welcome to GADC :slight_smile:

Look @Kirky stealing my usual welcome line for anyone in Wales :rofl:

@Blankers I’m in Bridgend and whilst not into FPV [edit: never tried it so don’t know] I’m happy to shoot the breeze. I suspect my time is a bit more limited than yours as I am still very much an employed worker! But do as Kirky suggests and create your own meetup and tag in the @group-wales bunch and whilst you’re at it, click the tag and then join the group to also be notified.

Also, need to get us some nicer weather first!

Hi @Blankers - welcome to GADC :+1: :+1: :+1:

I live just down the road in Gorseinon and retired too. Must admit, I’m becoming more and more interested in FPV flying but yet to try it out. Create your own meet-up suggestion and post it - I’ll do my best to get there :+1:

Hi: I’m in Swansea & happy to meet and chat. Also have a Neo - great little drone - plus Mavic 2, Minis 2 and 3, and - from four years back - a Mavic Mini. Flown for hundreds of hours, mainly in Swansea (sea-front and Singleton Park) but also Neath Abbey and various other parts of Wales. Name Chris Norris, age same as yours.

Hi Chris,
Nice to hear from you. I must admit I was surprised to get a reply from someone locally my own age…I thought this was a young mans sport ! And someone with a Neo too. I haven’t got my Neo yet, coming tomorrow or Friday.
I would love to meet up. Let me know where and when and I’ll be there. Next week sometime would be good, or the week after.
A retired guy from Gorseinon also replied, perhaps we could all meet. Let me know what you think.
Dave.

Hi Dave,

Good to hear from you, just up the road in Neath! Yes, I’m a keen drone-flyer now, having flown model planes - mostly control-line - for 6 decades and still fairly active in that department, flying once a month or so at the revived Fairwood Airport which is a couple of miles from our house. Pleased with the Neo, as with all my DJI drones - had it flying & made a couple of videos in Tenby last week, along with the Mavic 2, which I don’t use much for photography but fly like an amazingly docile and forgiving r/c model plane. Old habits die hard!

I don’t drive - always managed without a car - but am a keen walker and quite often do the Swansea - Neath footpath walk. Or of course there’s bus and train connections frequently. Just let me know when’s a good time to meet up - I’ve a couple of weekly fixtures but shouldn’t be hard to sort something out.

Best wishes, Chris
