Newby in Nairn, Scotland

Hi, I’m Carmel. I’ve just bought a mini 4 pro. I am a photographer but a complete beginner when it comes to flying - never even used a games console. There’s a lot to learn. I was so pleased to find the Ian in London videos. Before that, the DJI starter video I found had chinese subtitles and it wasn’t obvious how to even turn the thing on. I couldn’t believe I had to resort to asking google!
Anyway I am now registered and all that; and am up to learning about the features on the controller. I just saw the fantastic photos on the order of merit page and now I am feeling excited to use it, rather than simply daunted!
Thanks for all the helpful info on this site.

Hi Carmel @cduncan and welcome to GADC :+1: :+1:

Hi hope you have lots of fun with your new drone, and nessie does not eat it. If you ever get stuck either ask here or there is a lot of youtube stuff. Hopefully when you get comfortable and weather gets back to a more summer conditon you might be able to get some whales etc. But all the best

Hi Carmel @cduncan - welcome to GADC :+1: :+1: :+1:

Thanks for the welcome and info @OzoneVibe

Thanks - I think I’ll be staying away from water for a bit until I get used to flying! What is the air eqivalent of ‘sea legs’?

Thanks @jhdee

Hi Carmel,

Yes there are a few girls who fly, some very good pilots and videographers, hope to see some of your work soon…

We hope to move to Scotland in a few years, Invernesshire, Caithness, or Sutherland, but we usually visit 3 or so times a year…

I’m not far from Inverness. Maybe we’ll meet up in Scotland some time.

Quite possibly, we are off to Strathpfeffer with the MiL in June for a week, and hopefully to Tongue in April to see friends…

Lots of great places to fly in your area
