No drone zone signs: sometimes it's worth persevering

When I flew in central Manchester on Christmas day, one thing I spotted was a “no drone zone” sign in St Peters Square, with a Greater Manchester Police logo on it and the indication you could be prosecuted for flying there.

I wrote to GMP about it, and after a little bit of them working out who should be dealing with it, I’ve had a nice email today confirming the sign was a hangover from the Tory party conference and the Christmas markets, that “I should not worry about the signage”, and that it will taken down.

With apologies for any inconvenience.

Amazing!

With reference to these, obviously I had ignored the sign anyway:

The police, in this case. I doubt I’d have got anywhere with the council. The police had the advantage of their own drone team that they could consult.
