OMG What a drone - Matrice 30T

Wow, has anyone googled DJI Matrice 30T wow that is a drone and a half. Do no think it will be a prize in a hurry but wow. Then add a dock to it.

Looking at it I do not think it is going to be sub 250g

Yeah, it does look like an amazing bit of kit for sure. It will be a cold day in hell before I can spend £10k on a drone though, hehe

And take as long a time to find somewhere you can fly it.

If you get 16 Operator Id’s can you use one per 250g ha ha

I suspect they are going to go up in cost from 1st September as they will be part of the Chinese export ban…

but I’m sure DJI will sort you out an export license if you really want one… I can’t see them being that common for the common person at £11k!

I think you knew it wasn’t a sub 250g drone by the price and size of it?

Not sure if it is this week or next week I am going to win the lottery, but I have now declared that it is our turn to win. So once I get that I will then purchase some land in the middle of no where as that is no doubt the only place I would be able to fly this beast. Then I will get one.

Yeah a sorta got the idea that something like that would be a little bit heavier then my lil M3P.

Wow that is nice. Brings a whole new meaning to search and rescue. This shows people how good drones are. Shame that idiots who shut down airports do put a bad light on them.

Hello guys,

Im the original poster of that M30T video :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

It sure is a bit of kit but its earned me back its cost and then some in work!

That said, its strength is in x200 zoom in daylight. At night the thermal is comparable with a ME2 or ME3 which i sometimes favour over the M30 for simplicity and portability!

Here’s another Video of it in action.

Awesome!

If you are looking for any pilots would be interested in a career change.

PM me. Where are you based and do you have GVC?

M30T is still a very sexy bit of kit,
Couple it with a few extra toys and you can run it, basically 24/7 from your car out in the field.

Night/IR vision is basically grey scale daylight. Dont get me started on the spotlight/speaker combo

When it’s 3am raining and blowing a strong wind it’s the drone I use for commercial work. It’s also the fastest mapping drone I’ve ever used thanks to its speed.

They missed a trick though, it’s got an IR spot strip to support focusing but they should have made it an RI spot light!

Yup,

It did strike me as a tad weird they didn’t offer the IR spotlight option as you say, I did think about modifying the standard spotlight with IR emitters but a, i dont have the need and b the spotlight is a very expensive toy to pull apart and experiment with even if i could find similar spec IR emitters as components. That said, the noise of the system, even with the ‘low noise’ props made be think again about the idea. It’s not a modest drone to fly as i guess you know.

The IP55 rating was another reason i went for the M30T. I always have a slight grin when it starts to rain.

I’m basically an amateur who got the system to learn how it works, fiddle and maybe make some money back on it in the future. Im at the stage now where I’m looking into free or cheap mapping software to move forward with my learning. The DJI software looks great but its not a longterm option for me considering my circumstance and the pay by month nature.
