Parrot disco for £299 anyone?

@Davo_101 Have you tried circular landing yet David.

It’s awesome, no worrying about approach but you do need an 80m clear diameter around you.

Maybe the chuck itself that doesn’t like the cold? Who knows.

I haven’t been to a location with a large enough space to dare try a circular landing yet - something to look forward to! I am getting a serious addition to this done flying malarky.

Actually it’s 80m diameter, not radius.

Yeah it’s seriously addictive stuff drone flying.

Well I should be able to do that then! I will check measurements on Google Earth and add as an exercise for my next flight plan. How do you trigger a circular landing - RTH then Land button - or via the app? I am sure its in the manual - I will read up.

Thanks for the info.

I stil don’t even know how this Disco malarkey steers!

The wings are ridged, right? No moving parts? (flaps, etc?)

I’m sure I’m missing something bloody obvious here, but how does it change direction, altitude, etc if it’s only got a single prop on the rear?!

There are ailerons for controlling direction.

I just had to google the word ‘ailerons’ :frowning:

So there are moving parts on the wings??

David, good question, I have no idea lol. There must be an option on the app.

When I’ve used it it’s been set as last waypoint with the flightplan add-on.

Yup. Hinged section on each wing with servos.

Enter loiter mode then press land. I guess to land close to home make an RTH first to provide appropriate start point for the circular landing. Something to test.

Have you bought the flight plan add-on or thinking about it?

Thinking about it. I have a lot to learn already and want to make sure I have mastered the manual controls before I take that step. I have enough entertainment already but I’m sure I will buy it eventually though

4000mAh battery fitted.

Very easy when you know where to cut. I didn’t so one side was guess work and other exact.

I’ll make a post in mods later with pictures of the process.

Yeah it’s a great fit.

Kept it as close to front as possible as it as a bit heavier.

Will check centre of gravity later when I post up pics.

Currently charging on stock charger.

And focus looks much better, pointing out garden.

If I have time going to do a little experiment. Put in fridge for 30 mins then bring it out and start recording. See if focus changes as it comes back to room temperature.
Might do that with the one I’m returning actually.

Callum are you saying the battery mod has improved the image slightly then?

Sorry mate badly worded.

I meant the focus on replacement unit is much better. That was me just getting around to powering it up.
