Actually there is only one lake in the Lake District (Bassenthwaite lake), the rest are either waters or mereās.

Great pic @Leylo1971 but I donāt think Reservoirs arenāt classed as Lakes, id asked the question above as Iām surrounded by Reservoirs.

I did mate, a bit further up in the thread,and never got a definitive answer.
It is what it is, if itās not ālegalā then itās not legal.
Try Googling lakes in Lancashire and look at the list of ā¦no lakes , just reservoirs that pop up 
I wouldnāt mind, but when the vote came up for the subjects, I assumed that reservoirs would be included, and voted lakes, but hey.
Anyway, hereās a back up pic if the original isnāt included.

@Leylo1971 sorry Iāll rephrase, I had asked the question and got a load of wiki says this on lakes and reservoirs are man made and have a dam on the end, lakes also have to be surrounded by land and it has to say lake ā¦ā¦ā¦. To be a proper lake etc

Yeh, I did see the post referring to the wiki quote, thatās why I asked for conformation about the reservoirs, a couple of posts down from it, but nobody gave any reply, so I entered a res, instead of a lake, large volume of water last time I looked 
Like I say, It is what it is. I got some cool pics and an half decent video out of yesterday, so nothing lost 
. Just a shame because its a good pic 
After seeing that post I did actually asked for conformation, a couple of posts after that one, but non was given. So decided to enter a reservoir anyhow, bloody shed load of water out in the sticks isnāt it, same as a lake.
You Google ālakes in Lancashireā and see what pops upā¦3. All the rest are reservoirs, which when voting for the subject I assumed being large volumes of water, would be included.

The decision on whose images are winners is made by you, not us.
Any rules we have in place tend to be cheerfully ignored by you and we are too tired to be continually remonstrating.
We could be heavy-handed, we have to be in competitions that involve valuable prizes. Should we be rash enough to ever attempt to run and control the Birthday Challenge again you will find out what strict control involves ā¦
