So... what's on your bench at the moment?

A quick spin round the house will answer that.

That’s where things went pear shaped the other day. Maybe later.

Just gave it a try. Jello has pretty much gone. There’s still a little bit, but hardly noticeable. :+1:

Not yet configured in BF, I’ll bring it over for your inspection tomorrow…

Can I ask,

1- what are those black covers on the motors?

2- have you added extra protection to the receiver antenna (the ones that are sticking out the sides at the rear) - if you have, what have you used?

TIA

They are foam thread protectors while in shipping, handy to leave them on while working on the quad, saves on the constant scratching of fingers and arms too.

No, that’s how they are made, they are Frsky Tween Dual Fequency 2.4 GHz and 900MHz, they work on both frquencies at the same time.

Installing a new Speedybee F405 AIO V2 FC into the 3", that I built last month.

I had transplanted the FC from a previous quad (Speedybee Bee25) into my First Build, however after couple of flights, I show how managed to f-up the ESC’s on that one. :scream:

So progress made thus far this morning :hugs:

Particularly striped the quad :white_check_mark:

Fitted and tested the USB C extension & GPS :white_check_mark:

Buzzer, ELRS receiver & Lipo connectors to install, before unsoldering the motor from old FC and then refitting everything.

@SparkyFPV is this desktop a little more organised for you? Note - I’ve tried to keep it symmetrical (sorted of) for you. :+1:t2:

I replaced the broken bits on the Crooked 5 (I bought a second frame as spares at the time - bottom 3 bits of the pic took the beating shown close to the matching replacement part) - took me a whole 15mn and we are back in business

The baby ape.

Never done one of these before. So far, I’ve soldered on the connecter, after checking the connections 1000000000000000 times. Powered on with no smoke (smoke stopper employed of course). Next step is to plug the air unit in an see if it powers up.

Then I’ll have to learn how to make it work. :winking_face_with_tongue:

Seems you are using a separate ELRS receiver - in this case you only want to connect the air unit with 4 cables (5v/G/RX/TX - you do not want to connect S-BUS and the extra G) - everything else is the same as Walksnail

That was from the previous incarnation.

Does the SBUS mean you can use the DJI controller? To be honest I’m happy to keep using the ELRS and RM Pocket.

yeah - but it also tends to generate a conflict error if you are trying to use another receiver

Well, that’s working. Got a picture in the goggles at least. Now to find out why the damn thing isn’t arming. Might be difficult if I can’t get BetaFlight to connect to it and ImpulseRC Driver Fixer can’t find the FC.

Now I remember why I got weary of all this.

Edit:

No.1 - BetaFlight doesn’t like it if DJI Assistant is running.

No.2 - It looks like I’ve never configured this AIO, which is why it’s not responding.

Grumpy old codger out.

It’s alive!

That’s two that are BM-ready, aside from the Avata. :+1:

I think. They have a habit of not working once I turn up on location.

jez - what version of BF are you using?

Web based or app?

I’ll probably have some tinkering to do, with the new 3" I built, so if you need to use my iPad to tinker with your new builds, please ask.

Currently using the 10.10.0 Configurator desktop app. Forgot it was all available on the web now.

I’m very much in the “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” camp - although a reasonable amount of my stuff is broke.

my offer is linked to your comment, I’m no expert (far from it) but if using it helps it’s there

New flight controller installed, finished rebuilding the quad and tested it, everything works as expected.

Don’t have time today to conduct a maiden flight:enraged_face:, but have completed the essential hover and directional move tests in the garden. :clap:t2:

So it’s already for BM26 for it’s official maiden flight :+1:t2:

Just waiting for my delivery of yellow TPU, so I can reprint and replace the green parts. Which is a task for next weekend.

On a roll…FlyFish Atlas 4 LR now with working GPS since a brain transplant with a new SpeedyBee AIO.

At least it was 10 minutes ago when I hung it up. Hopefully it will stay that way.

Just the dreaded Nazgul to fettle now… :grimacing:
