Murrays’ Mills is a complex of former cotton mills on land between Jersey Street and the Rochdale Canal in the district of Ancoats, Manchester, England. The mills were built for brothers Adam and George Murray.

The first mill on the site, Old Mill, was begun in 1797 and is the world’s oldest surviving urban steam-powered cotton spinning factory. After Old Mill opened, the company continued to expand and prosper, and by 1806 the complex was the largest in the world, employing about 1,000 people at its peak: Decker Mill was opened in 1802, New Mill in 1804, Little Mill in 1822, and Doubling and Fireproof Mill in 1842. The main complex formed a quadrangle surrounding a private canal basin linked under the road to the Rochdale Canal, which opened in 1804. The canal basin was used to deliver raw cotton and coal and to transport spun cotton away from the complex.

The earlier gasometer photos were taken from within the 120m ceiling. With the Mini 2 lens, you can’t fit in the whole gasometer at that height.

So this is a first attempt at a composite of several photos to give the impression of being above 120m. Made using the Bimostitch app.

You’re not alone, I googled a Tangolorian drone too, all I got was this:

A few from my trip into Norwich last night. Still experimenting with night flying but really enjoying the process

Best time for night photography is when there is still a little bit of light/colour in the sky, which you’ve got spot on :+1:

Some pics from my place of work yesterday. Western House Hotel at Ayr Racecourse is a popular wedding venue.

3 image pano on the Mini 2

One for @TassyWass a 3 image vertical pano on the Mini 2

Western House Hotel also happens to be right on the edge of Prestwick Airports FRZ. I’d normally contact them for permission to fly in it, but on this occasion there was no plans to fly inside the FRZ. So as a bit of an experiment decided to fly the Mini 2 straight at it  It kind of just bounced off like it was an invisible force field :joy:

Worth the effort though

@Drumsagard ….so did you attempt to fly along the race course ? And what happened did it just stop …go into RTH ? …any notification ….just curious Alan

Yes, part of the track is outside the FRZ, part inside. I attempted to fly straight in to the FRZ and I tried to fly along the edge of it, The Mini 2 just wouldn’t do it. No messages, no warnings, nothing, just refused to go inside it.

I’m in Portsmouth at the moment so took the opportunity to grab some shots of the Spinnaker Tower (to add to the millions already in existence… :joy:).
