Thanks Nigel
I do love the old trains
You can’t park there, sir.
LOL indeed luckily it’s not to far to walk
Always fancied scrambling up that!
I love these photos! Brilliant lighting and focus. Is the bit circled in red where you decided to alter course in case you disappeared into a snow drift!?
I was taking stills at that point which was getting deeper so I moved to a shallower place to start flying

Elvaston Castle is a stately home in Derbyshire. The Gothic Revival castle and surrounding parkland is run and owned by Derbyshire County Council as a country park known as Elvaston Castle Country Park. The country park has 200 acres (0.81 km2) of woodlands, parkland and formal gardens. The centrepiece of the estate is the Grade II Listed Elvaston Castle. The castle has been neglected and is in need of restoration. Due to its condition, the building is not open to the public, and since 2008 has been listed on the Buildings at Risk Register. Derbyshire County Council estimates the castle and estate requires significant investment for both restoration and to support its longer-term maintenance. In 2017 The Elvaston Castle and Gardens Trust was created to manage the estate once these works, which are already underway, are completed.
@Kirky Nice shots Richard and the edits are great too. Lightroom/Photoshop?
Thanks mate, yep still learning & trying to find out a happy medium, I just fired them through PS quickly as I was not happy with them, is the word composition ? The last one I quite like but I was bang on 400ft high & wanted to come down a bit but the nerves kicked in, due to the surroundings & being un familiar, hey ho, I’ll just keep learning mate, it’s only my 3rd or 4th try in PS, it’s so different to messing around on the phone, but hey I’m just going too keep practicing, be nice to get the right weather to experiment more, I do like the muted dull look but then that also depends on the subject & or weather.
I’ve been revising most days I’ll be forever learning, cool with that tho, cheers Colin
Edit I also stayed @ 400 ft to try & keep most of it framed
