And anything over 37 seconds people wont watch
If this challenge extends into East Anglia (which I appreciate might be tricky) I’m happy to pick up the Norfolk (and possibly Suffolk) legs…
Just had an interesting thought.
Which poor soul’s operator id will be on the aircraft?
;o)
So the ball has at last started to role slowly
The GADC Drone Relay Challenge - Challenges - Grey Arrows Drone Club UK
We will shortly be inviting members from the darkest, deepest regions of the south to volunteer.
This challenge is not going to run with an iron fist by @Challenges_Committee . We are wanting you, the membership, to sort out the finer details of how the drone gets from A to B. We will of course be here to step in and help with any disputes or guidance on rules etc, but we want this to be a community run challenge. We might need a member from each region of the UK to step up to the plate and organise things in their section.
What we are looking for is to document each road trip the drone takes on its travels around the UK
Have a look Here for what we are after. But please be aware we are not looking for the level of info that @DazC put in, you can of course do that if you are so inclined.
As a bare minimum we would ask for:
A short description of the route taken. A photo/video/pano of the start and end points, and anything nice in between. Good rest stops, cafes, pubs etc along the route. Think of trying to explain to a tourist what they should stop to see and do to get the most out of the route. And of course, a photo of you handing the baton over to the next flyer.
There are no prizes here folks, just the warm fuzzy glow of knowing you helped to achieve this rather massive challenge.
Over to you guys for some discussion
To kick this off, we are looking for someone that can start off at Land’s End @group-southwest
Even Skem😂
Sadly I am a bit too far away from Lands End.
Although when I did a route it took me to a place in the Midlands by the same name
Come on guys, please don’t make me drive all the way down there to kick this off
Just a thought, but have you considered messaging/tagging some of the Cornish members to try and get the ball rolling? I’ve had a quick look at the members’ map and there are a few who are recently active, but aren’t necessarily members of @group-southwest. Obviously you’d rather have a volunteer than a pressed man, but could get things moving…
Also, just wondered if there was any way that this thread could be moved to Challenges rather than General Drone Discussion? I always look at that category for recent updates, so might help recruit a few willing participants as well.
I’ll happily volunteer my services for Norfolk and Suffolk (Essex at a stretch) if the route extends to East Anglia (or if the poor drone survives that long…)
Done.
I have asked the powers that be to move it into the challenges thread, I will also have to ask them kindly to change the title as I cant do it. It should probably read “The GADC Drone Relay Challenge Discussion Thread”
And now it does
damn, you guys are good
Neither can I, I yoyo in and out of Trust Level Four so much I get giddy
I reckon the video would be a tad long
You only need trust level 3. Which you have. Gimp
Trust level 3 can’t edit anything in the challenges category including titles you gimp!
Put back
